You do everything you can to build a winning mentality within the organization. Tanking does not do that.

Pretty sure multiple losing seasons and lack of playoff appearances played a role in AD, Baron Davis, and CP3 leaving the franchise as well as not being able to attract players here. Let’s not try to repeat that with Zion and BI.

It’s levels to this, make the play in games and you’re one step closer to where u want to be and build off of that. The warriors had to learn how to win before they became dominant, most people don’t remember they had similar struggles to what we have now. Didnt know how to finish games. You want to lose to draft a great player but we have great players. We just need quality depth now and learn how to finish games.

Not to mention, currently the 10th seed plays Dallas.

Pels can beat Dallas

It's ok if we don't win the play in. The point is to get there. Give them the experience of win or go home. This how you learn and get better.

We should be past the point of tanking because we have our star. Good teams draft well and develop talent, they don’t need to tank to get other good players. And this is a good draft, but after Cunningham, Suggs, and Mobley, a lot of players are interchangeable. It comes down to your ability to scout.

Couldn’t have said it any better

NBA tweaked the play in format this year. The 7 and 8 seeds play each other once, winner is the 7 seed. The 9 and 10 seeds play a game, loser is eliminated. Loser of the 7/8 game plays winner of the 9/10 game, whoever wins that game is the 8 seed.

You would think people would understand this.

shite, even better.

Pels beat Spurs or Warriors (both possible), then face Memphis, and well, we all know how that usually goes

I’m always for winning if you can but with all the injuries piling up and the future looking very bright I’d argue that tanking this year to acquire a good player early in the draft will lead to more success than if we were to fight for the last playoff spot and have a pick in the mid teens versus top 10.

If you send the signal to the players that your ok with losing simply because you've had a few injuries, you're sending a signal to the players that your just plain ok with losing.

This is kind of how I feel about it. If they’re not playing, tank. If they’re playing, we have to try to win

Pels are better than GSW...Thus be 10th is possible.
Curry has already 33, Myers must fastly search stars to Curry / Thompson / Green era.

Won't matter. They'll win just enough to frick it up but go nowhere.

We actually can't "tank" in the classic sense. Tanking is best understood as holding out your quality old veteran in favor of giving those minutes to develop younger players while accepting the losses that come with that.

We don't really have those quality veterans to sit, except maybe for Adams, and Jaxson is still getting plenty of minutes.

Curry's last year of his contract is next year.
Klay has 3 years left, same as Draymond. Wiggins has two.

I think next year is the last year of the Warriors. If Curry leaves in FA, they might as well start blowing it up a bit. I'll gladly throw everything at the Warriors to get a healthy Klay with BI and Zion.

I normally don't separate fans into true fans or fake fans...except when it comes to the Lakers. The Lakers are the 5 seed and falling, just half a game ahead of Portland at 6 and 2.5 ahead of Dallas at 7. Anyone that doesn't want the chance to take a shot at them in a play-in tournament isn't a true fan.

I want to win and make the play-in, while still playing our young guys as much as possible. I also don't want to risk BI or Zion to injury, so if they are hurt, hold them out, if they aren't, play them.

Its a balance, but we need to be developing for the future while still trying to win some games.

Result isn't the point. You don't try to engineer failure, even if it is for longterm gain.

The culture of tanking has been corrosive to the league. All the wise-guy smirking about how to purposely lose to game the system--even celebrating it--is deeply cynical and saps away all the natural love for sports, where trying your best to win is the foundation of everything.

I think it's time--past time--for the NBA brass to institute a true draft lottery: you miss the playoffs, you've got the same shot as everyone else in the pool at the top pick. No better, no worse. If you really want to juice it, invert the lottery. The more games you win, the more lucky ping pong balls you get. Finish with the worst record? You get one ball. There's your frickin' tank...

I guess even if we don't tank, injuries will be the death of any possible run the rest of the way.
