I think we need to see the entirety of the trade before making judgements on things like that, I’m aware that isn’t fun though

I’m fine with Crowder.

He isn’t leaving Miami. They have 12 on the roster with new signings. 13 with Precious. They are barely over the cap with salaries and can resign Crowder if they want, which I’m sure they will do.

It’s already been reported they are out of it. That being said I don’t see him coming here regardless. He’ll go to a contender

Just curious at to why it hasn’t happened yet if it’s 100%

Because we are over the cap and sending out more than $19.6M, we can take back up to 125% of our outgoing salaries, plus $100,000.

it seems very likely the core of this deal is Adams for the Nuggets first and two second rounders. With some sort of additional salary going out.

you think a late 1st in a shitty draft and 2, 2nds means

Griff values Adams pretty highly

I *think* you could expand the trade with one of these teams to bring in a forward. Not that I'm in love with all of these options, but just to give an idea of going that route. These certainly wouldn't include the full trade, we would have to spice up some of these offers.

Atlanta can absorb contracts into space and send us Hunter or Reddish. They are trying to win now so Bledsoe/Hill makes more sense now that they have Gallo to start.

Orlando has been rumored to shop Aaron Gordon. He doesn't really fit the best next to Isaac and Vuc when they are healthy. They could use a guy like Bledsoe next to Fultz.

Sacramento has been shopping Harrison Barnes. Definitely my least favorite option. He's the most expensive and got the longest contract.

As I think it would provide very little toward our ultimate goal of having a contender around Zion which will not realistically be happening for another 3-4 years.

explain to me how you realistically imagine this 1st and those 2nds are able to complete your vision in 3-4 years

Would love to get Barnes. 28 year old true SF who plays great defense and shoots 40% from 3. Please and thank you.

No we are not. The trade hasn’t happened yet. BI is just a cap hold, Kira isn’t included yet either. You remove Miller and we have around $8M in space. The timing of signings can make us stay under it, or be over it.

Except he hasn’t really done this in SAC. He’s actually played much better for them at the 4 than the 3, but that doesn’t fit as well for us. I don’t think Zion is going to be ready to play the 5 for large minutes by next year.

We can have cap space. Remove Miller and we have $7-8M in space. There’s tons of games you can play to make cap space or be over it.

If we remove Miller we have about $76M in salary. Ingram’s cap hold is $21.7M. Kira’s cap hold is $3.6M. Then you have incomplete roster charges. You would need to renounce the MLE and BAE to get cap space less than the MLE itself.

If we get rid of the Miller trade chip and renounce the MLE and BAE so that we can make an uneven trade to get a year of Steven Adams, that would be a bad idea.

We essentially gave up the 24th pick this year which has very little value

I hate when people say this. You don’t know nor does anyone else know it’s end game value. I’ve read a few people that think Hampton will be the steal of the draft and best value considering where he was picked. So the pick does have value. Wonder how many on here would have loved to have a Hampton type on this team in AD’s early years to try and develop but never could have because of Dell always trading our assets away.

The Pels have like 6 guys under 25 right now, they don’t need any more young projects

There are some valid questions surrounding this trade with the incomplete information we currently have, but RJ Hampton has nothing to do with it.

I'm fine giving up a late 1st for what Adams brings. If you ended up both losing Bledsoe and paying to dump a player that is a positive asset and would be useful to the team, which is what the incomplete information kind of suggests, then I have a problem with that. BUT, last night people said Woj said on Sports Center he thought we were keeping Bledsoe, so who knows what's happening. We might be sending OKC the 1st for Adams and the seconds to take on an overpaid S&T of Frank Jackson.
