All those season tickets sold last year so that people could watch the league's newest superstar ... who then only ended up playing a few games before the season was shut down due to COVID.

New Orleans has massive unemployment due to disaster economy. Many people can’t afford tickets. Individuals who get money from tourism, service industry, energy, restaurants, construction etc. are cutting back on luxury spending to make payroll. Also the future resale market on tickets will be low as New Orleans will take a awhile to bounce back. People who buy for resell income will likely opt out.

As for the BLM reason - Some of these individuals’ innate default is to blame blacks and immigrants when they have personal problems.

I think some are assuming that if the nba had remained silent, there wouldn’t be as much or more pushback for saying nothing.

Conservative companies who spent a lot on sponsorship/marketing/suites aren’t wanting to put up with the bullshite that comes out of these players mouths. A large faction of players truly believe this all began in 2016 and think it ends with him losing in November. Less than 30% of NBA players are registered to vote, yet they are the ones pushing for arenas and sporting venues to be used as polling places.

To be fair, I know 2 different people with VERY expensive tickets and they aren’t renewing them for this specific reason. I literally heard one of them call the ticket rep and tell them this.

Personally even though I hate all this BS I’m still going to go because I love the team. But it does annoy me.

I think people also need to realize that throw idea being perpetuated that blacks in this country are being hunted down is ridiculous.

Racism is alive in this country and ironically more prevalent in minority groups than whites. Ignoring reality and blaming others for every ill faced by your segment of society doesn’t magically make your perception of reality real.

The problems face by blacks in this country exist albeit not to the extent or ways they would like you to believe. Many of their problems are self-inflicted by their own glorification of thug culture and treating women like shite. At some point, they have to pull themselves up from this shite. Others handing them things won’t fix that. In fact it likely makes it worse since they will believe they can get anything they want without doing it themselves by just claiming racism.

Again, there are real problems that blacks face in our society along with other minorities. Those have to be fixed internally and have nothing to do with other groups.
