So what is Bill Simmons/Ringer’s deal with the Pels?

The ringer ranks them 14th in the West. 14th.
It seems like Simmons always takes every opportunity to shite on them, as some weird play to get Davis to the Celtics.
It’s really odd.

And what is your argument? 9th?

He has 3 agendas at work against the Pelicans that he constantly brings up:
1) You got the first one being that he wants Davis to get traded to the Celtics.
2) He doesn't think there should be an NBA franchise in New Orleans and wants them to move to Seattle.
3) Before the Boogie trade he really campaigned for Celtics to trade for him and constantly talked up how awesome Boogie was. Once the Pelicans got him, he constantly shits on Boogie to affirm that the Celtics were right in NOT trading for him. (AKA the classic "didn't want him anyway" move)

Its not that far off. Meddling PG, horrible wing players, no shooters and two dominant front court players who have to step back to accommodate the other's games (not to mention both are soft and don't want to play Center). Easily bottom 3rd of the league in talent. No playoff experience and and a bad coach. Only hope to make the playoffs is a MVP season by one of the big men. Normally that would get you a top 3 seed. Totally valid opinion..

Well, there is a drastic difference between 9th and 14th.
14th is one of the very worst teams in the entire league.

Sorry, but it is. 14th is insane. Pure idiocy. 9th? 10th? Ok, I get it.

Everything is based on those 2 players, everything. If one goes down or struggles, the season is over. The 15th team, Phoenix, is loaded with talent. It doesn't take much to see why people outside our market would doubt this team, especially this current group.

Hmm same thing applies for
OKC - Westbrook or George go down = season over
Houston - Harden or Paul go down = season over
Some teams its only one player
Wizards - Wall down = season over
Cavs - Lebron down = season over
Spurs - Kwahi down = season over
Of course you need your two best players to win. That's how the entire fricking league works. Get out of here with that bullshite.

Well...of course it is. It's the NBA and two guys who average 25+ppg and 10rpg on the same team makes a huge impact. It is up to them to make other players better.
I have tried to look at it from your point of view, and I have to figure that you feel that AD and Boogie are two of the most overrated players of all time. In order to get the Pels to 14th in the West, you have to figure that AD and Boogie have significant injuries (which shouldn't be a part of preseason predictions) or that they will both take significant steps backwards based on their career stats. Hell, you have to be assuming that every other team below them will be better and they will take a significant step backward by adding Cousins. Doubting this team is fine, thinking they will be a bottom 5 team in the NBA is not.

Even Boom doesn't think we are going to be the 14 seed.

Last year's team was AD/Jrue and it was good enough for 10th in the West. Now you're adding Cousins to the mix. Even if you assume the Pels are still worse than the 9 ahead of them before and now Minnesota, that makes them 11. The only rational explanation for someone saying they're 14th best in the West is if you make the assumption things will go badly enough that they blow it all up and tank.

Its a guards league and our best guard is Jrue Holiday. Also Alvin Gentry is our coach.

2nd to last, or 14th in the west means a bottom 3-5 team in the league. To think that a team with AD and Cousins would finish in the bottom 3 is just retarded. You can't base your prediction on possible injuries, and if you aren't, then i don't want to ever hear or read anything from that person about anything basketball related again.
This arse hat is insinuating that the Pels will be similar to the Nets/Sixers/Lakers of the last 2 years. That's just not possible if healthy, and you can't base predictions on assuming someone will get injured.

Our best Guard last year was Jrue Holiday, and he missed half the season. Our coach was Alvin Gentry.
And we were the 10 seed and only had Boogie for like 20 games.
I can't see us being worse.

Simmons hates our beloved Pellies more than he hates God Emperor Trump. He's a mess.

He only has a few discussion points for the Pels and they are primarily....what month will we trade Demarcus to Cleveland and why is there a team in New Orleans? Thankfully he is wrong a lot.

Nah, I think he meant meddling, like if we miss the playoffs: "we would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for that meddling PG!"

I am assuming one or both well be injured for portions of this season. The pair average 27 missed games a season between them (Cousins has suspensions mixed in there as well). In 12 combined seasons, they only have 2 seasons I would consider injury free. They are just injury prone guys. Without one or the other, this is a sub .400 team. Not counting each other, this is the worst collection of talent each has ever played with. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is bottom 5 level talent. Its a bitter pill, but this has been a long time in the making..
