Didn’t Zion rehab in Portland while hiding from the FO two years ago?

I do think, regardless of whether a trade goes down at the draft, that we’ll end up trading BI or CJ eventually

The organization doesn't have time to rebuild again, it's getting close to shite or get off the pot time for David Griffin. Trading Brandon Ingram will be detrimental to winning basketball games next season.

In either the trade BI for Scoot, or the keep BI and Zion scenario, you're relying on his health. If Zion is healthy next year, as is Brandon Ingram, the team has NBA Title possibilities. I think trading Ingram would be about the dumbest thing we could do to be honest

What John Collins are you referring to?

Last year he had a pretty serious hand injury that he was playing through, the three years before that he shot .364, .399, .401. With enough shots (more than the 10 per game he gets) he’s an easy 20 ppg scorer, especially with someone like Zion opening up the defense for him.

He doesn’t want to play the 5 full time, and frankly his body wouldn’t hold up if he did, but that’s not what would be asked of him here.

It might be a package of Herb (since he’s in need of an extension for money we don’t really have), a bench player like Hayes, and 3 1st round picks.

I’m not sure but I seriously doubt it’s CJ (since he just came from there) and BI (because he’s basically the leader of the team).

He wasn't "hiding" as the FO knew and supported him going to the Nike facility there.

Haven’t read the entire thread, but If Shams is reporting this, folks should remember he has legitimate links and ties to Zion.

Shams and Jordy are historically the only 2 media types that Zion’s camp shares any info with.

Could be Zion calling in a favor to Shams to get the fanbase and twitter off of his tail and get them talking about something else related to the Pelicans.

There’s no way Charlotte or Portland would accept this.

If we trade for Scoot it better be anything but Z BI and Trey. Anything else can go if the trade is right. I would want to keep Herb Jose and CJ but if the trade is right I would be ok with it. If we can give up 14, Herb, DD, 3 of our future 1sts and the Laker and Bucks picks to have to get Scoot I’ll do that. If we do that we are probably trading CJ to run a Scoot, BI, Trey, Zion and most likely JV. If it’s anything besides that fire Griff now before he destroys what’s left of this franchise

because it hasn’t equated to wins? Plus it’s obvious the tax issues just fuel the idea more for Griff and co.

Everyone needs to realize this. Under previous CBA, you don’t trade BI. Under new CBA you have two options:

1. Sit pat for two years making no changes to roster and then blow it up when you can finally get off CJ. This means potentially losing one of Herb and Trey.
2. Get off of CJ or BI right now so we have the flexibility to make roster changes and sign all of our young players.

If you trade CJ, you’ll have to pay the team a first. If you trade BI, you could get Scoot. It’s a no brainer to me.

Yeah like how I'd love to move Zion for Scoot and keep our own 1st

Why would we give up BI for a rookie that may be good 3-5 yrs from now?

Math

It’s BI or Zion Or lose everyone else

Trey with Zion is better than BI with anyone else

Add Scoot to Trey & Zion & Herb and FA Center that works

we’re not winning with him! Y’all are so hung up on winning two games against a suns team with a hurt Booker. With BI we have not won. We have been very mediocre

Back to back play ins and y’all worried about winning less if we trade guys lol

If this team lost in the first round again or lost in the second round, maybe I can understand the logic.

Time is right to move BI...he is already bumping his head on his ceiling...& is gonna get very expensive in the not too distant future.

CJ's best moving time is still a bit away. I'm fine with Scoot for BI...but to be honest...I'd be just as happy if we ended up with Miller instead of Scoot. Maybe even happier.

Millers numbers against RPI top 50 teams scares me to make a trade like this for him. He was pretty bad against most good teams

BI for pick 2 is a steal for the Pelicans.

A good to great out of the gate rookie on a cheap deal is going to become like having a good qb on a rookie contract In The NFL. The new CBA is going to be very prohibitive towards having two max players.

No team is making a playoff run without their number 1 playing basketball games. This situation isn’t on Brandon Ingram, it’s on Zion Williamson. If Zion just got his shite together and played 60 games, we don’t have this discussion at all.

Who does BI have to take pressure off of him at the end of games? CJ McCollum? Please.

The rest of the team has to be there too bro, you can’t put this all on the guy dropping 28 points a game the 2nd half of the year, getting triple doubles and racking up steals fighting to keep us in contention. Without BI we’re not sniffing even the play in.

This is all not even to mention that Dyson Daniels missed like the season, Trey missed about a dozen games, as did CJ. Lance missed a bunch, I mean shite dude, Jonas Valanciunas missed a game due to injury. To blame last year on BI is extremely shortsighted

ETA: I can also probably count the times Trey shared the court with BI to end games on one hand. Meanwhile it would take both hands and all of my toes to count the number of times BI hit a wide open Herb Jones in the corner for 3 with 4 minutes lefts and Herb fricking airballed it

Totally understandable position. But the wheels kinda came off for Miller down the stretch and there was a whole lot of "stuff" goin' on that probably affected his play. Bottom line, I think he's gonna end up, at worst, the 2nd best player in this draft.
