re: Shams says Pelicans are “aggressively pursuing” a top 2-3 pick for Scoot

Good point but to be fair hasnt this always been an issue even before Nelson- not saying hes not responsible- but pelicans players getting hurt has been a constant them in this franchise. BI has issues too- supposedly him not returning on time seems to be a BI issue more than a Nelson issue at least according to media reports. Nance has always missed games in hus career- i think him missing only 37 was actually good for him.

A source tells Marc Stein that the Pelicans would consider trading Williamson if it meant they could draft Henderson. The position could mean the Pelicans are broadly at the point where Williamson is no longer untouchable. Williamson has dealt with injury issues throughout his career that could be traced to a lack of commitment to his conditioning. Williamson is entering Year 1 of a five-year, $194.3 million extension.
Stein adds that the Pelicans appear to be "less inclined to consider trading Brandon Ingram" in a deal for Henderson.

I'm betting Gayle is disgusted with Zion's immaturity and sex adventures while he's fat and can't stay on the court.

There's major smoke now.
Everyone kept saying that skankgate didn't matter. Maybe it didn't on its own.
But this is cumulative and the national embarrassment and out of touchness by Zion might have been the breaking point.
Despite all of that, I'm not trading him for Scoot alone. I have to get something more back like swaps.
Zion has top 5 potential. Scoot doesn't imo.

Scoot is literally the only guy in the draft that if we trade Zion to get him, people may not agree with it, but scoot brings that type of excitement. Now I’m thinking starting 5 of:
Scoot
CJ
BI
Trey
Jonas
Like Zion with scoot more, but I’ll take this.

A much better defensive team and more shooting.

Just some food for thought in this thread:

I posted something somewhat similar in the thread about how far BI can take us, basically taking it a step beyond just MVP...
Basically going back 40+ years, every team that has won a title other than the 2004 Pistons has a top 25 ish player of the last 50 years on their squad.

Basically if you don't have a guy that has won MVP or will win MVP you don't stand a chance

Granted, I guess most, but not quite all, MVP winners are generally all time greats so mostly the same thing.
But going by top 25 ish also takes out a few MVPs like Harden/Westbrook/Rose/Nash/AI...just makes the club even more exclusive and shows how crazy the 2004 Pistons were and what they accomplished.

What's this shite about Houston being interested in Zion?
Not sure they have anything I want other than Sengun and that's not close to being enough. I don't want their shitty pick this year either.

Simplistic way of looking at it, but we have spent a lot of time talking about what Zion’s value is or isn’t on this board. It feels like if Charlotte does come to you and says we will give you #2 for Zion, I would almost think given what we know of Zion, you have to take it.

Scoot paired up with Zion is what makes it worthwhile. Scoot without Z isn't as attractive to me.

36 pages in and I've been trying to decide on what my opinion is on all this and I'm having a hard time caring.
Zion being healthy on the Pels is what I want the most. I just don't know if that's ever going to happen.

Not sure if this is legit. So giving fair warning about this one. Im not sure I believe it to be honest.
#Sources — Zion Williamson and his camp reportedly prefer a change of scenery, specifically in New York. Pelicans will field trade calls through the NBA Draft, Thursday, June 22. #NBA

Zion/Randle oriented deal makes sense of both sides. Knicks need a true heavy hitter (no pun intended) and the Pelicans need a dependable star which Randle is, both sides take on risk, Zion’s issues/Randle’s playoffs, but a change of scenery could benefit both vastly.
Comment from the tweet you posted. Holy shite
Edit: And I wouldn’t care if it was true, Knicks don’t have shite to give us.
