But we have to consider the opposite side too. Imagine if he has another shite unhealthy season. Well then his value is even lower. We all have this hope that he’ll eventually be healthy for a full season. What if he never is? What if this may be the best chance to get even something a bit decent back in return? I mean if your truly a betting guy based on his track record would you bet on him being healthy a full season?

The fact you read all the messages over two people arguing over dumb shite- doesn’t that make you even dumber??

Mac has some interesting tweets stating our analytics dept is high on keeping Zion and trading BI on Scoot but willie, griff and CJ prefer trading Zion for Scoot. He also has stated both portland and charlotte prefer BI to Zion. Givony on espn even stated Pelicans offering BI to Hornets on draft night could change things up. Remember Kupchack (formerly of Lakers) drafted BI in LA and is a huge fan as well. If Charlotte prefers BI, it just depends on if Pels are willing to part with him for Scoot. Thats a hard sell considering how much BI has been touted the leader of this group.

I wonder why MM keeps throwing CJ's name in there. It is odd that CJ "has a say." I can see the analytics dept being much higher on Zion and Willie being higher on BI. That makes sense. I still think this is all a move by Charlotte to increase the value of their pick. I think it came out today that Charlotte was extremely high on Scoot after his workout. I think they are letting other teams know that if they want Scoot, they have to come to #2 not to #3.

Sure but not like any of these other local guys are saying anything. Take with a grain of salt.

Yeah, we do have some terrible local guys. They all regurgitate what the national media or other bloggers say. Heck Fletcher gets most of his "sources" from having his interns scour social media.

That's a very basic way of looking at it.

No matter what the team decides to do with Zion there is going to be a significant amount of risk. For David Griffin I suppose the question is which is worse, trading Zion for less than he's worth and Zion going on to have a healthy season? or keeping Zion and he gets injured again?

I’m gonna laugh when nobody gets traded and only off season move is replacing Garrett Temple with some random league min vet

That probably has a much higher likelihood than trading up to #2. I am sure the Pels would love to get Scoot, but highly doubt they make such a drastic move.

Yeah theres no reason to toss around CJ name unless its true. Lets be honest CJ is the president of players, and his voice is pretty loud in locker room. I just had no idea he would have this much say- if its true.

This thread is way to emotional

There are two paths

1) We do nothing and have two years with this exact roster then boom.

2) You let go of next years dreams to field a better team for the future.

That’s really what it comes down to. All this extra stuff being argued doesn’t matter lol.

Ok hate to tell you but the nba public and media is pretty basic. They arent going to sit here disecting the situation and giving the benefit of the doubt to the pelicans.

Yeah I know Mac can be intolerable and probably not the most trustworthy but at least he gives us more than Griffin plays piano for Zion.

It may be true, just seems very odd that he would have so much pull with management as someone who is only a player (and only been here for a little over a year). Heck he got Griff to give him a 2 year extension that turned out not to be so smart given the new CBA, so he must be good.

Yeah but its message board in the offseason. Its fun to argue and get emotional lol but I agree it basically boils down to what you said.

Yeah, Clark is probably the worst of all of them.

And think about it this way, if we do trade Zion or BI under new CBA it benefits CJ lol because if we don’t his arse will be gone lol

Honestly a trade I love (I know I’ll get vitriol from the board)

Three-way with Indy

Pels get Scoot, Mark Williams, and Cody Martin

Hornets get Myles Turner, Chris Duarte, and 7

Pacers get Zion

Why would the Hornets do this?

Again if you go by how his career has panned out and his inability to stay conditioned during injuries- I would say keeping Zion and him getting injured is probably more certain. But yeah Curry had ankle injuries and of course theres Embiid too. What worries me about Zion is not so much the injuries but the conditioning during those injuries. The fact he cant keep his weight under control when injured is a huge concern.
