Shamit says he's hearing a lot of noise about Griff being fired

Please fire that snake oil salesman Griff. Plus there’s no chance a new GM would keep Willie around.

Great another Alvin Gentry situation.
Griff should have been fired. Burned through all of our assets and fricked this team so hard.
There are really good coaches out there right now and this team needs a fresh start. And might as well change the name to the VooDoo while we doing it.

Yes, and none of those coaches will want to work with a loser like griff. I would guess we promote from within and Bryson Graham becomes POBO

This is a question that I been trying to figure out. Who would be the best choice to replace Griffin. I’m out of loop of the young up and coming Front Office personnel

Had one who is now in Detroit

If they bring Willie back I’m done with them. They aren’t a serious franchise.
He CANNOT win close games.

If they bring in someone from outside the organization then I think we’re headed for a rebuild. The new guy wouldn’t be tied to Zion as much and would probably want to wipe that slate clean

If we get rid of Z and Griff and let Willie Green coach some reliable dudes with character
I wouldn’t be mad
I’d have Green on a short leash though

I’d replace Willie if we could get a coach who knows his head from his arse to take the job.
The “executive” head coach like Coach O at LSU football doesn’t work for me if they can’t keep good assistants.

If they fire Griff but keep Willie, that’s the end of my fandom

Joe Dumars? frick.
He had a great Pistons team and let them get into the doldrums by bad decisions.

Hopefully it would be a case of Dumars coming in to replace someone useless like Swin.

Nonbasketball people making basketball decisions won't make it any better. That's a big problem with this franchise and the way they operate.

I’d rather take a chance on an up and comer than take a guy who put the Pistons into purgatory for about 15 years.

You just lost a lot of credibility saying you’d be fine keeping Green. I now know to immediately disregard any of your future opinions. Thanks.

FWIW, I was with an old buddy last week who is close to Benson's inner circle (business/social relationships) and he told me the decision had been made to clean shop in the Pels front office and coaching staff. Later he said ownership may be rethinking things on Green, but that Griff was definitely out.
I'd thought Griffin sounded like he had one foot out the door earlier this year when he went on about how you want to leave an organization better than you found it and all the work he'd done to solidify the Pelicans operations and infrastructure. Sounded a lot like a summing up...

Willie is a god fearing cornball so of course Gayle loves him
And they better not hire Joe Dumars

Gayle loves people that are nice to her but suck at their job, so retaining Willie checks out.
Dumars makes no fricking sense but hey has NOLA connections so frick it, gotta hire him!
