I wouldn't be so sure. Without their own picks they have no incentive to tank. They will be looking for a completely different type of return then. They may not be a contender after that kind of trade, but they can probably make a run at the Playin in the East.
They have no picks, they have no cap. They are truly fricked.
No Vet that will actually push the needle out of lottery range is going to MIL without Giannis

If the Bucks want their picks back, they just have to give us something in return. If they trade Giannis, they could reroute a portion to us in exchange. Let's say something like.. Bucks- Zion, JSJ, picks back, 2026 IND 1st Houston- Giannis Pelicans- Sengun, Sheppard Don't fight it, just let me dream..
Zion is better than Sengun and you have us giving him along with picks? What is wrong with some of yall? We would literally be better off just cutting Zion than making a deal like this

We would be giving up Zion, 2 1sts and a swap for Sengun and Sheppard
That’s a pretty awful trade for the Pels.

Yeah I have a hard time seeing how we can facilitate a trade. Those Bucks picks are good. And we only have one pick in 2027. What could someone give us thats better than those picks? Especially if that team gets Giannis…

Use your imagination. For Giannis, anything is on the table. Amen Thompson, Sengun, KAT, Bridges, Bam, Herro, name the best or second best player on any team interested. Not saying we should rush to give up these picks, but I’m also up for taking the sure thing over a lottery chance from a team having no need to lose.

We would be giving up Zion, 2 1sts and a swap for Sengun and Sheppard. Might be an overpay, considering how you value Zion. But I think it would get the job done. We still have our pick this year and all of our future selections. We wouldn't have to reset/rebuild and would be ready to win now.

Nice trade, I'd take out the '26 IND 1st and send one HOU/PHX/BKN pick to Pels to even value. Posters trashing this trade idea of Sengun don't know how good he's been. Available consistently(!), still young, and has been awesome defensively in the series- his one main drawback concern.
Honestly, after this series, Rockets may do whatever it takes to keep Sengun and Amen, and shift to Booker or Durant trade offers.

I believe Zion is out no matter what.
I saw an old clip of Dumars on twitter when he was announced where he was talking about Chauncy Billups coming to the Pistons and how he got him at the right time. Had he gotten him earlier in his career he wouldn't have been ready to listen.
I'm not saying Zion is ready to listen, but I do think Joe will look at this and wonder if he can do for Zion what he did for Chauncy. And Dumars is the kind of old school guy that Zion seems to respond to.

The only way Dumars and Gayle come out clean from a Zion trade is if we land Cooper Flagg and Giannis.
Thats it.
Any other trade where we are on the losing end just gives more credence to the poverty team moniker / meme

Zion is still here. Many around Zion are now gone.
Does Dumars want to tie his future to Zion too?

Very fair. I believe everything they say about Joe wanting to talk to him first.

Giannis isn’t coming to New Orleans and I don’t blame him. The one place I’m terrified of him going is San Antonio. He and Wemby at PF and C would be downright unfair.

Spurs have decent assets too. Castle, Sochan, picks, quality vets that they can trade for more assets.

Zion is better at left handed layups than Sengun
Sengun is better at rebounding, post moves, defense, passing, orchestrating an offense, screen setting, better leader, better off the floor, averages 70 games a year vs 30, is 3 years younger, has proven game can work in the playoffs, better work ethic, better conditioning, better at embracing the team and city that drafted him, etc
Truthfully, I think Houston has him as untouchable
I think they are willing to make trades this offseason, but I don’t think they would include Sengun and Amen

I can't wait for Zion to be gone and for all his fanboys to go with him. Then we can start focusing on what's best for our team, rather than protecting and catering a man-child.
Sengun is worth way, way more than Zion. It's not even close. Zion just missed over 50 games and nobody here knows if he's healthy, in shape.. shite, people don't even know if he's in the country right now. Sengun is younger, more durable and was an all-star this year. There is no way we got get Sengun straight up for Zion. We would have to include picks just to get their attention. They still wouldn't want him. The Bucks are desperate enough to give it a shot though. They could sell a reclamation project.

I hope this is legit cause Giannis with TM3 and Herb and whatever else they put around those 3 would be very interesting.
