I understand why Utah made deal. Why exactly did Minn give up so much for a center that’s not one of the big 3

The NBA Today people all saying expect Mitchell to ask to be traded ASAP, they got rid of all the people he liked on the team.

They also say all those other players are on the table now too, Bogdonovich, Connely, etc.

Seems like a complete rebuild or all in on a 3 team trade for KD.

Utah is expected to make a run at Ayton, they’re not rebuilding, they seem to be retooling

I can see half of those picks going to the Nets.

PHX: KD, Kessler

Jazz: Ayton

Nets: Bridges, Connelly, 5-6 picks

Obviously a few more players would be involved. I kinda hope it happens. I’m not sure if KD is better than both Bridges and Ayton at an overall net rating. The Jazz wouldn’t really get that much better for now.

I think part of why they gave up so many picks is because they kept their core pieces. This is the most talent the Timberwolves have probably ever had. They should be able to keep it together for a while if it doesn't flame out.

That's probably better than not making the trade and having someone like KAT asking out in a few years.

It is still the Wolves. They will find a way to frick this up.

Of course, you can’t get picks stripped for violating the CBA if you have no picks left.

I like it because they have 70 million between PF and C. KAT’s shooting helps make that feasible but it leaves little room to fill out the roster especially after AE gets his deal.

This doesn’t change the fact that Gobert might have to sit the bench if they are losing and need offense. And they will have less offense because Gobert is making 40 million.

Their fans better hope the new owners are willing to pay a hefty tax bill for years, otherwise they’re not going to have anyone around AE, Kat and Gobert

Who was the ownership group? I know it included an MLB star but I don’t remember who. Jeter? A-Rod?

Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez

Combined they have about a 3.5 billion net worth, so pretty much they’ve dumped all of their money into the Wolves

You do realize that we only have 2 extra 1st round picks in the next 5 drafts, outside of our own picks we own.
We don't have this trove of treasures in picks, unless you want to count actually having all of your own picks a treasure trove, which i guess it kind of is b/c our total of 7 is more than just about everyone but OKC the Spurs and now Utah.

and Houston doesn't own their 24 or 26 pick. They actually only have 7 first round picks in the next 5 drafts, just like us.

OKC on the other hand has 7 picks and then their own 5 picks in the next 5 drafts.
Spurs have 4 outside of their own, so 9 total.

Jazz will have 8 picks in the next 5 drafts.
