What makes pacers want to trade their players?
They're about to fire their coach after one year.
They have a cheap owner and will be just $15 million below the tax before resigning Doug McDermott or TJ McConnell or adding FAs/draft picks. Basically they can't run it back without going into the tax. Maybe they pay to dump Lamb which would free up $10 million, but still, do you want to be right under the tax for a team that would have completely missed the playoffs in the East if there wasn't a playin?

Right. The Pacers need to strip it down to the studs.
Maybe you keep Levert or Sabonis but you trade everything you can at this point imo.

I don’t think SVG was wrong about much in his analysis of the team and where they needed to improve throughout the season.
I thought there were some times SVG should have owned some losses more, but I didn’t think he was that off.
The team had a ton riding on guys like Bledsoe, JJ, and Melli being much bigger contributors imo. I also thought Hart’s lack of shooting development was also an issue.
They basically had limited depth which killed them. The team had too much riding on Zion, NAW, Hayes, and Lewis providing significant contribution considering the format of the last couple of seasons. These guys did not get proper development because of it.
The team also looked extremely good when they look truly engaged with good effort. Also they have a ton of young talent that hasn’t been able to truly break out.
I thought Lonzo had an excellent season. I wish he would work taken it inside some more and used his mid range game. He looked when he did that; however, without his shooting we would have had no consistent 3 pt threat pulling away from BI and Zion.

But I was told this off season is not that important

By who? The team clearly can’t have a repeat of this season.

A lot of words(I didn't read) to not just admit you went off on me and said Zion wasn't giving a lack of effort then later said Zion gave a lack of effort.
It's ok to admit it, it happened.
Sit down and shut the frick up:
YOU: less than 40 games into Zion’s career proceeded by pages of ridiculous slander and high fiving every stupid argument that passed through that thread:

but he simply is not nearly the prospect we thought he was when we got the #1 pick Yep, that's what I mentioned. And I do think it's 100% fair to say this through 35 games
You were and are a moron, you made some
Dumb takes, be a man and own it.
Quit running around trying to gaslight history for months on end because you can’t just admit you took the wrong takes and ran with them.
And like I said, all you have to do is let your ego go. Every time you think you have an angle to try and gaslight, keep in mind the receipts don’t disappear.

it’s SVG fault that they can’t shoot or give effort on defense? Or the mental lapses at the end of games?!

Still denying that you said Zion didn't have effort issues, I see. Keep up the lying, it's so cool to lie.

be a man and own it.
You earned your L, you just won't admit to facts, that's on you.

I don’t like his politics either but what specifically has he done wrong with Zion?
According to Griff he was the only coach interviewed who supported Point Zion - are we to believe Zion and his camp don’t want PZ?

Zion and Co need to realize their faults also.
He even said in his exit interview, you can't continue to do the same thing and expect different results.
Hopefully he works more on that midrange shot this offseason, if he develops a steady one of those and actually uses it more than once every few games, this team is a top 6 seed.

We have to get rid of Ingram, Ball & Bledsoe.
Build around Zion.
He has to become an alpha dog like Jordan and Kobe. ‘This is my team. This is how we do things. I demand effort and wanting to win above all else.’
Until we have that we are wading in shallow water.

I'm much more concerned that he improve his defense. If Zion and BI make significant improvements in their defense, we definitely do better than the #6 seed.
Zion has to know that this is what makes the Pels a contender. He has to lead, and to do that he has to be a defensive leader, and he needs to report to training camp in shape -- with "point guard conditioning," as Stan put it.

So “reported” is an off handed comment on a Sacramento radio station?

Yeah. Alvin Gentry, who very likely still talks to some of our players, is an assistant coach there, so it's easy to guess where this story comes from.
