I’m optimistic due to the depth the Pels have/are building, with a healthy Zion and CJ settling in, Pels are kind of stacked. But we overlook, in addition, that BI is a bad man … Top 4 seed going in to the playoffs.

I think how you laid it out Bronc is about right as far as each team in the West goes, assuming relatively good health for everyone.
I think Denver could rise to the top if they are truly healthy, and im talking more for Murray than MPJ. With how Jokic is leading that team, adding two quasi all-star players to that team will make them very dangerous. I think they are a better team than Phoenix when at full strength.

My realistic expectations for this team should be to win 50 games with a healthy Zion and BI. I've been saying that for about 3 years now. This is the season i expect to start the rise to annual title contention. Last year was a very small appetizer to that rise. I'm not going to say i expect to make the 2nd round, even though that would be nice, but it's completely matchup dependent. I mean you could get a 4 seed and have to play the Clippers b/c they had some injuries but are at full strength come playoff time. I can't expect to win that series, but you can definitely show you belong in the conversation even with a round 1 loss.

and i'll say this. I think our team for the future is pretty much set, especially next year once Zion's extension kicks in. We are going to go as far as BI and Zion can take us. I think we are going to see a very fun run over the next 4 years at minimum, and hopefully longer. Role players will matter, sure, but when it comes to winning playoff series, it comes down to BI and Zion willing their ways to victories. We'll see what they are made of. It's going to be fun.
Dyson can be a very big wild card in all of this, even if he's just a very good role player. Herb is just a role player, and his impact was huge.

not sold on Dallas being in our way. Luka is awesome but that playoff run was kinda fluky. Just a hunch but I don’t think the roster they have is going to work

Dallas lost a superstar, according to Knicks fans.

I actually really like the Dallas roster, though being down another creator opposite Luka could really hurt them. I'm assuming they just slide Dinwiddie into Brunson's spot, but I don't think Dinwiddie could be as efficient as he was for them in their run to end the regular season. He shot 41.7% from the field in the playoffs, which is where I would more expect him at.

I feel like a team with Luka has to be considered up there, I don't quite think they have the depth of talent of a team like Denver, but Luka can just dominate some series.

Brunson was historically efficient though. I was looking over some of his stats and they are pretty mindblowing in context. Dinwiddie has never been that kind of player

luka gets you 50 wins i assume but they are a bunch of overpaid role players after him

Top 4 seed going in to the playoffs

Pels did top 4 seed only once in their story (New Orleans Hornets and Pelicans combined)...

I'm not saying they will never be top 4 seed yet but a lot of questions with this roster.
The only season where BI did more of 70 games was his rookie season.
I even don't know if Zion will be healthy or not this season.

The young players must progress. We will see.

Right,
Of the projected reserves, TM3, Nance, Jax, Dyson, Jose/Kira/Graham and Naji are all are either ascending or in their prime. I think Pels will have a competitive camp with reserves scratching for minutes. Previous years we were counting on growth from 1 or 2 of NAW/Jax or aging vets. Team is in a significantly better position on this front.

From the reserves, It be ideal to have two press for starter minutes, keeping the starters on their toes allowing for minute reduction until after the All Star break. I'm keeping an eye on Nance, although he is not one of the youth core, think he is a sleeper that may surprise a few folks and steal a few more minutes than expected. With this depth, we really shouldn't have to run down BI, Zion, and CJ in the regular season just for a shot at the playoffs.

If the two seasons prior to this one were 82 games, BI would’ve been on pace to play in 69 and 70 games those seasons.

This past season is the only Pels seasons where he’s missed more than 11 games. Remember that the two seasons before this one were only 72 games each.

They do???

lebron and maybe davis
goebert and maybe kat
Greene and maybe wiggins
Jj jr for memphis in 6 months. certainly in playoffs. and clarke for 2nd team.
Jake laravia 6 9 235 rookie 1.19 is big enough if he's on floor vs zion running 2nd team. clarke will be first up for 2nd team.
I don't know clippers roster now.
kahwi might take ingram so I don't know.

Don’t think the Lakers do, actually.

LeBron quit playing defense while AD is not going to want to bang with a big guy. And even if they do defend Zion, we have the talent at other positions to make them pay.

None of those guys have a chance.

Wasn't it rookie Zion or maybe even preseason rookie Zion, just absolutely abused Gobert, he never had a shot.

There was also an all time tweet where a dude saved receipts on a shite ton of folks tweeting that Zion may have been physically dominant in college but he wouldn't be able to push around Steven Adams like he did. Then rookie Zion just owned Steven Adams, one time going at him and Adams ending up all the way under the goal while Zion didn't flinch and scored.

The West is deep but two or three are contenders. GS and Denver are definitely contender. Depending on JJJ injury the Grizz could be a contender.
There another eight teams including the Pels that have a legitimate playoff shot.
Houston, OKC and SAC are borderline. Would not be surprised to see one of three as a play-in team.
Utah is tanking for Victor.
EverY team will have difficulty stopping Zion. The flip side is whether Zion can stop Davis and others. His defensive limitations will be magnified by the Pels overall weak interior defense.

I’m not sure CJ isn’t the most important player on the team. Zion and BI are huge, but I’m lots more comfortable with our backups behind those two than what we have behind CJ.

Which, based off simple numbers, says we should finish about 7th depending on LAL and the Jazz.

Not sure I agree with how they see us but the SAS being projected to finish last sounds right as of now.

they will be the road team vs a serious contender in round 1 if they even get out of the playin.
no Jj jr for too long.
it'll take him a month or two to find his shots too.
I will be surprised if they get to round two with just bane and morant cooking.

out of the playin (6 or higher) should be the goal and I’ll be disappointed if they don’t. I don’t think that’s unrealistic

jury is as much out on DEN, DAL and MIN as it is on the pels. All 4 teams have plenty to prove it’s a matter of execution and luck
