Lets imagine there is a draft. But its a draft for duos. All rosters are cleared and you can pick duos for the next 3 years. What would your board look like if these were the duos you could draft

Dame/CJ
PG/Russ
Jokic/Murray
AD/Jrue
Mitchell/Gobert
Harden/CP3

I have an opinion. I don't know if there is a "correct answer"

Curious what others think

So, just to be clear -- this is total output over the next 3 seasons. You think Cp3 will still be producing enough in year 2 and 3 to keep that duo at the top?

as a 2 dog and he brings an immense amount of other factors to table aside from points... yeah possibly Harden brings an elite scoring level unlike all other applicants.

its a good and fair question

i'd pick lillard & mccollum 1st because i want lillard. he's everything you want in a face of the franchise star, on and off the court.

2nd pick would be jokic & murray.

the rest, none are better than AD/jrue. i'm not spending any money or time to watch rustle or harden play basketball

Jokic/Murray is tempting because they're both still capable of improvement.

All the others have at least one guy who is who he is and/or may be on the way down within 3 years.

Interesting. It is possible. I think one more injury and he becomes the 2nd worst contract in the league behind Wall. But I do agree that his IQ will always be valuable. My question is: How will teammates take that barking when the guy can't play? Think of the old guy in pickup who sucks but never shuts up and tells all the youngbloods what to do.

I think I would go:

Dame/CJ
AD/Jrue
Harden/CP3
Jokic/Murray
Russ/PG
Gobert/Mitchell

Harden CP3
Dame CJ
Jokic Murray
PG Russ
AD Jrue
Mitchell Gobert

I honestly don't think AD is as good as we make him out to be. 100% honest.

He's a great player but he just doesn't have the things that aren't quantifiable. And to me, that is important.

Also I think having one ALPHA in a duo is important and neither player is.

Dame and Harden are the 2 individuals you'd want the most, but their #2s takes them out to me.

I don't want Westbrook, and Gobert is too limited offensively.

I've seen the AD/Jrue combo and I don't think Jrue is the guard who can offensively take over a game like you need in today's game.

So I think I would go Jokic/Murray like I said above after thinking about it.

In today's NBA, it would be hard to pass up on PG/Russ.

That's probably what I would do too, but swap russ/pg and Gobert/Mitchell.

It's not that AD isn't good. To put up 25 & 10 on any given night is great. The problem is if you don't primarily handle the ball, create for others, and take over games you just aren't special. His game is too dependent on another player creating or play calling. He could be special if he stepped it up on defense and changed his personality to where he took over games but it just isn't him.
