The Bird Writes just put out a big piece with all of their writers' predictions about minutes per game from all of our players. They disagree a lot.

Appreciate

Fischer is my version.

Dont ride jrue to death.
Hart is really good.

If things break right they are still a factor for 8th the last month and you can up jrues minutes.

i disagree with most of those guys in that i think moore gets 16- 18 minutes on average. miller will also probably play more than most are expecting

to me though there are three players that should get no run without injuries...jackson, okafor & hayes. jackson does not have the ballhandling skills the pels's guards will need, and he's not a good enough spot up shooter. NAW should get whatever minutes FJ would get. okafor brings nothing that would be missed, i think melli will get the extra center minutes. and hayes should redshirt

Lol some of them expect Moore to not get any minutes after being a starter last year. What a joke.

Moore will play 10-12 a night. Veteran who knows how to play and shoots 39 percent from three. No way he doesnt see minutes. I dont see Hayes playing much at all if any.

hayes will enjoy scenic lake erie. Work.on game. Buy long underwear.
Put "no ice fishing" in his contract.
No one likes jacksons handle as pg. Needs more work. Maybe never. Sometimes guys figure it out in europe.

Melli's european reviews/stats are very hopeful. We hope hes all that. If he is, he plays a lot.

People seem to think miller is a trade piece. For what?
I agree he can contribute.
Ive seen him look good.
If its really vets first he plays more than portrayed in link

I doubt it. They're just assuming based on skill sets and thinking Moore will eventually get traded. But more already knows the system, a rare trait with so many new players, and if you're going to trade him you probably want to boost his trade value by playing him.

We saw Frank in one summer league game and it just so happened to be the one summer league game that we played the most real NBA players. He was obviously the best player on the court, the best shooter on the court, and the best leader on the court. There are big expectations for NAW based off of what we saw in summer league but frank was just as dominant in his one appearance against better players. I think that will be one of the most interesting intra-team battles this season. The staff seems to be really high on frank and I’m not sure he should be written off just yet.

I expect Moore to be traded at some point.

Way too deep at Guard for a trade not to make sense. Hart and Moore can play some at the 3, but it is still a logjam. Lonzo/Jrue/JJ/Hart/Frank/Etwaun/NAW

I really think that minutes at the beginning of the season will look a lot different from minutes at the end of the season.

I think Moore and Miller will play some early. I think that Griffin wants to package them for a big piece after December, and that's a lot easier to do if they have some good stats.

I think that NAW and Hayes will basically play zero minutes early. I think that they will benefit from some G-League time and the heavy minutes they can get in that league. I think they will both be rotation players by the end of the year.

So, if I were doing that exercise, I'd do two different charts.

There are 4 new players on this team that can play either guard or wing that are better than Moore.

Moore will probably still get like 10-12 minutes a game, but he's going to be behind Ball, Ingram, Redick, and Hart in minutes per game, IMO.

i agree with the first part (they will play often) but not the second. both are so obviously trade pieces, but their stats won't matter.

moore is an established veteran with definable skill, doesnt matter what his stats are this year. miller will be a salary throw in, regardless of this years' stats. when they play it will be because gentry wants them out there

How I think minutes will go:

Ball 32
Holiday 36
Ingram 32
Zion 32
Favors 30
Redick 30
Melli 15
Hart 15
Miller 10
Okafor 8

These players will get spot minutes due to injury/ foul trouble/ blowouts:

Jackson
Moore (I doubt the team risks injury for this deadline trade chip)
NAW
Hayes

Moore has been in the league 8 years, and is 30 years old. What is he going to really do to boost his value? Isn't it kinda one of those "he is what he is" scenarios? He's also in the last year of his deal, so he's not locked into a below value deal that could be an asset. Maybe I'm completely off-base, but I feel like both Moore and Miller will be looked at from other teams perspectives as salary filler in a trade that will fall off of the books this summer, and not much else.

Moore seems like a good candidate for a playoff team trying to make a push/need more shooting.

This team will need time mesh. We still do not know how Melli will play yet. Also im sure we will not have Reddick playing crazy minutes to start out. This means mainly Moore and Hart should get decent playing time problably some at SF too in the beginning of the season. Im not quite sure how they will transition Okafor and Favors playing time. I think we are really just gonna have to see how they play with certain lineups.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that this is correct. Any minutes that Moore and Miller play will be because Gentry thinks that they are the best players to play at that moment. Everyone in the league already knows their talent and skill level.

And they aren't going to be sold to a team that needs shooting for a playoff run, because they aren't good enough for that. They are going to be salary to match in a trade where we are buying a really good player from a tanking team, when we will likely be adding in a draft pick or two.

I dont think any of them get that many minutes. Especially Melli. Be barely averaged that where he was at, he's not going to transition THAT well. I cant see him getting more than 10. Favors was at 23mpg last year, and I know its different circumstances but I cant see him getting that big of a bump.

I've always liked Miller, but at the minimum, him and Moore share minutes, with Moore getting more minutes being the more likely outcome. I say that about Okafor out of wishful thinking.

Also, whats the word on Kenrich these days?
