Melli is going to play plenty.

240 minutes total

Zo 30
Jrue 34
Ingram 31
Zion 30
Favors 26

JJ 24
Hart 17
Melli 15
Jah 13
Moore 11
Frank 9

Then I expect something with Moore and Miller to be a trade. Maybe frank thrown in. Rotation will shorten down to 9-10 instead of 11.

That would work if all those guys played 82 games. But guys are going to miss games and those minutes go to other players.

Also, Miller got over 7M for this season and he has averaged over 20 mpg. He is going to be a rotational guy. Moore and Miller are the 7th and 8th guys..

Miller is paid what he is paid because it adds to salary they could take back in a trade. If they let him walk they would have signed some minimum salary guy and that makes a future trade more difficult if the guy they are targeting has a high price tag. They were able to go over the cap to sign Miller with his bird rights, and that gives them wiggle room. View Miller as a chess move. He might get minutes early on because of familiarity in Gentry’s system, but there’s about a 95% chance he is moved.

And my minute guess is just a guess. I know injuries come into play as always. It’s really fricking hard to narrow it down to 10-11 guys. I didn’t even put Kenrich in this. I really have no clue how they’ll distribute minutes. The team is insanely deep.

If they trade Miller, doesn't that guarantee his 2nd year option? Would he have as much value if he wasn't an expiring contract?

No, just no. It's not a second year option either, it's a non-guaranteed second year.

Also, if you think Moore and Miller are 7th and 8th guys, you are assuming both of them get minutes over Hart?

ETA: As Danny Leroux termed it, Darius Miller is a human trade exception. At this point, that's basically what Moore is, too.

I do, at least at first. Like I said before, there are a lot of new faces so knowing the system will be useful. Coaches almost always go with guys they can trust to execute the game plan. We'll probably see what we saw a lot of in the Monty era when guys of similar levels were fighting for minutes. One guy gets a block of games, then the next guy and keep cycling through which will drive us all crazy as we'll pick a favorite and can't believe the other guy is getting minutes even though nobody actually stands out.

Doesn't Moore do this just as well? Im not just looking at his 3 point shooting, his floater is consistent, he isn't dreadful on defense necessarily, plays smart basketball, and can give you 20 points on any night. Seems like the kind of guy worth a 2nd or two to come off the bench or start when needed.

Moore would start in Milwaukee and fill Brogdan's void. I know, he's not as good as Brogdan; he's solid from the perimeter, decent defense, good IQ. He's a SG that is playing out of position. He would start for the Pistons or Heat. Maybe if the Pels didn't keep like 5 SG's on the team, Moore would have been able to play at his natural position. His ability to play SF in a pinch should only enhance his value.

No, he doesn't really create gravity. He actually gets most of his open 3's because he doesn't create gravity and players will sometimes help off of him.

He's a 40%+ 3pt shooter and is still a replacement level player, what does that say about the rest of his game?

I just don’t see why Frank HAS to be a legitimate pure point guard, his handle obviously isnt the best (for a point guard), but he is being forced into the role. He could very well be a good combo guard for what it’s worth

I’m so glad they’re putting Zion on load management his first year. Less than 30 minutes a game and no back to backs. They are also making him wear knee pads. And a helmet too. We need to protect him. No traveling to arenas with mean fans like Philly either, very smart!
