He made sense to me. All three can score but they need to find other ways to win like playing defense, rebounding, and facilitating the offense instead of iso ball.

Not only that but you have JV asking for the ball in the paint.

Chuck kept saying our big 3 don't fit together.

Our big 3 is +10.7 net rating this season on court together. That's really really good.

Yeah there is no doubt they fit offensively.

It all comes down to Zion and being willing to play defense. He is an absolute liability out there sometimes

Good thing we have like 6 other plus defenders we can throw out there next to them

I think their greater point was continuing off of the playoff talk, where you will see CJ and Zion hunted mercilessly play after play.

Agreed. Zion just needs to be decent. He just has to be able to hold his own.

Yep. And in certain games against athletic bigs and uptempo teams, that harms us more than helps us. Nance has been coming off the bench picking up JV's slack.

Saying sometimes is being too nice. It's close to 85% of the time.

Teams are hunting for him when he's on the floor.

By this time and these guys have had all season to figure each other out, I say let them go ahead and hunt them, because a Zion/CJ or BI P&R will always end up with a dunk on their head or a wide open 3. I have no doubt we would outscore them

Not really surprised the team played a lot better tonight. Not having to fit the agenda of feeding Zion so he can force his left handed layup all game and play zero defense. Cj herb BI trey nance is a better lineup than our starting 5

We aren't better without Zion -- that's just silly. Zion is still finding his groove, though, and none of us should be surprised that he's not yet playing at an all-star level.

And we can't start Nance against Steven Adams. Nance won't hold up all season if we force him to take that kind of punishment.

But the real starting lineup change that we need to see is Jose starting in place of Herb.

Dinky will hate me for saying it, but it's the truth.

We probably will need to see more defensive lineups with 1-2 of our “big 3” in at a time. That Jose, Herb, Dyson trio would work great with BI and Zion unless there was a super athletic super big big out there

Ja nearly had as many free throw attempts (11) as our entire team (12).

The way these games have been officiated this season has been bad, with this one being particularly bad. Willie needs to start riding the refs more. Call them out post game, take the fine. Get ejected in a game. Have to do something or this BS will continue.

Point Zion is a tactic, this game should demonstrate that.

Officiating is bad league wide. It is criminal what some players get away with and then others sneeze and catch a foul and a tech

That was a fun game to be at

1st time my gf (no pics you heathens) has been to a Pelicans game since deciding she actually kinda enjoys basketball (me working in sports helped) and she had a fun time and the win helped

The SKC erupted when Jose went all Grand Theft Alvarado with that 4th quarter steal.... I love when a crowd reacts to a good defensive play

Pro Basketball Talk was flapping over the team this morning.

An excerpt -

quote:

New Orleans is 8-6, but with the fifth-best net rating in the league (they project as a 9-5 team), and they are not going anywhere this season. They are a legit top-six team.

We also have the 2nd best point differential in the West despite a tougher than average schedule, which typically is a stalking horse for where the teams will ultimately fall over the total season once schedule favorability evens out

Top six team with a lottery swap that may take us into the top five in a great draft will be ballin for years if we play our cards right.

well they’ve lost 3 OT games 2 of which they should have won in regulation

I get what PBT is saying but using net rating to project a 15 game sample is kinda dumb. The better illustration is that their current net rating projects to a 50+ win team
