In crunch times with a lead, he will not be a factor because he is still a terrible free throw shooter when you consider he plays a guard position.

So the plan is to surround AD and Cousins with horrible shooters.

No, the plan is to surround AD/DC with quality guard play that can facilitate a team, yes I would love to add a knockdown shooter but I think Rondo would be a great addition. Do you want a score first guard that's gonna take shots away from them 2?

It's that I am frustrated that this is where we are. We have the best big men in the NBA and we are grasping at the Rajon Rondos of the world to save us

No shite! Everyone is frustrated. But it is what it is. You bitching and moaning about every potential move isn't going to change that.

Dell acquired Boogie and seems to be trying his damndest to get us out the cellar. These are the types of moves it takes.

You've only been here for 2 days and already becoming unbearable

One source briefed on the meeting said it was "excellent," and the Pelicans and Rondo could begin negotiations as soon as Thursday, as there's enthusiasm on both sides to try and work out an agreement, league sources told ESPN.

I don't mind him taking the occasional 3, but he's not good enough at it to convince me he should be attempting 6 a game. Not when he's a good FT shooter getting fouled on ~20% of his attempts around the rim and when he is eating at will on shots at the rim at uber efficient rates

He shot 31% from 10-16 feet and 37% from 16 feet to the 3P line. And it's been worse in previous years. Leave the pick and popping to AD. Cousins can attempt his 3s when the situation calls for it, but otherwise do work where you truly excel at

I have bitched about acquiring a 51 million dollar Reggie Jackson and RAJON RONDO...lmao

16 teams make the playoffs. How many teams would you say have playoff aspirations this season? Let's say 20. We are one of those teams. So out of the 19 other teams how many of them would have fans that are ecstatic about adding one of those two assclowns?

I agree tons of options. Lots of versatility.

Plus getting Rondo doesn't keep us from making the Jackson trade, or putting something together for Lin, or waiting until mid season when the Suns realize they aren't getting 2 first round picks for Bledsoe

Rondo is simply a placeholder right now unless he comes in and plays like he's in Boston

Rondo pushes Jrue to the 2 guard more than likely.

Holiday isnt a great lead guard by an stretch, but im not sure why they would pay him so much to move off ball next to a guy like Rondo.

literally everyone said the Pels needed to add shooting this summer. you could watch those last 25 games and see all the open shots Davis/Cousins created.

and so far.......they've brought in Darius Miller and a rookie 2nd round pick

Exactly corny!

God, how much would an efficient shooter thrive with that pairing? It's sickening to think about

I know they aren't done but man, a 5 man unit getting the bulk of the minutes of AD/Boogs w hill rondo and jrue is gonna be painful

I would strongly argue that Reggie Jackson is a bigger locker room cancer than Rondo at this stage but some of you would rather pay him $51M instead of Rondo on a one year deal despite having 1/100th the BBIQ of Rondo. I get that Rajon has had his run-ins, but good grief, let's not pretend that Reggie isn't an absolute buffoon.

Have to agree there Gyno. EVERYONE knew we just had to get Shooters and we've added none whatsoever ,because of the corner that Dell has painted himself into.

It is what it is.

I'd probably jizz my pants just to get Jared Dudley right now.

I didn't say a thing about either's attitude. Matter of fact i love Rondo's attitude and I think the Reggie Jackson thing is mwah overblown

I'm talking fit for this team skill wise

I'd love to get Dudley or Courtney Lee in this 4 -teamer

Yea Rondos attitude was well publicized in Dallas so I think that's what most people go back to. Reggie Jacksons attitude "issues" are way overblown. Yea he was arrogant in OKC but he's done nothing in Detroit to rock the boat (except play bad defense which some teammates called him out for to which Andre Drummond defended him)

You still want a guy knocking down outside shots on kick outs from AD and Boogie. That guy isn't rondo or Solomon frickin Hill. Our best shooter is a concerted PG. This is why Reggie Jackson makes more sense to me

Reggie Jackson is not a good outside shooter. He never has been. In his best years he's been average at best from outside.

Well... how many of those teams have <7mil to spend on a player? How many of those teams have 90mil locked up in 3 players? How many of those teams have two top10 players that are under 30?

Also, both of those guys were starting in the NBA last season, we could do worse.

Chill out, brah.

I agree with the skill fit, but I still want nothing to do with him on that contract. He's not a needle-mover that would make me want to put so many eggs in that basket.

Even if we sign Rondo, I still think our finishing lineup is:
Jrue
Moore
Hill
AD
DC

I know that they're not the Splash Bros, but Jrue and Moore can knock down those open 3's created by AD/DC. Ditto Solo in the corner. Jrue went full retard running the offense post Boogie trade, but I think he'll get better used to it. I could even see some Rondo/Moore/Jrue/AD/DC lineups if you want a distributor + adequate spacing. Jrue's got the size to defend a lot of 3's, though he'd be buggered if the opponent got him to switch on a 4 with offensive talent.

shite you could even make Crawford the primary ball handler in late games situations with Jrue, Solo, AD, and Cousins

i just don't see how having rondo helps. he's lost a step. he's a head case. he's gotten to the point where he's afraid to go to the rack because he knows he'll get fouled and have to miss free throws.

he's a decent three point shooter on his best day.

floor spacing wise this is just a terrible idea. and defensively, you just never know when he's going to give a shite.

the bulls have ZERO fricking point guards, and they didn't want him back.
why do you think he'd be better for the Pels?

veteran's minimum maaaaybe.

in the last few years he's:
quit on the celtics, getting himself traded
asked to leave the mavs.
sucked on the kings, padding his assist totals and losing games.
sucked on the bulls.

he's just cooked. was a great PG back in the day. but this is not the same player.

The Bulls are rebuilding and he was due over $14 million.
