Isn’t Kira a younger, cheaper version of Sexton?

Pels/Cavs discuss Collin Sexton trade

I would like to discuss how this is a fricking retarded decision that will cause a major melt from me. There is nothing about this dudes game that tells me he'll be a piece on a winning team. He's a smaller Beal. Do not want.

Sextons ideal role is a spark plug off the bench, which could happen.

Zo and NAW as your starting backcourt with Sexton off the bench would be nice.

Let's say we trade Bled, Adams, Kira, Josh Hart, 2 first and a few second round picks for Sexton and Prince, then resign Hernangomez:

Zo, Naw, BI, Zion and Hernangomez as starters. Sexton, Didi, Prince, Naji and Hayes off the bench.

I think it’s very unlikely that Kira ever averages 24 points per game for a season.

How many players in history have shot .385 from 3 on 815 attempts in their 19,20,21 seasons?

Yeah we definitely shouldn’t assume it’s legit every time. I try to look for motive.

In this case, we have a guy breaking cavs and pels news. If he wanted max attention or followers, I think he’d be trying to loop in Boston, New York, LA. This isn’t some young up and comer aspiring to be the next Woj. He’s just a guy who has been around the block for a long time and loves basketball. He probably has a source or two.

I tend to think this guy’s info is true. Whether or not talks are advanced or will result in a trade is an entirely different thing.

From what we know about the Cavs and Sexton and the Pels and wanting to get quality non rookie help for Zion, it makes sense. Sexton might be the most talented trade target that is potentially available this offseason. I’d be disappointed if we didn’t at least make a call to inquire about him.

He isn’t a great defender, but my favorite thing about Sexton is his ability to score from the 3-10 ft and 10-16 ft range. We’ve seen how important those in between touch and feel type of shots are in the playoffs.

I also like the fact that in Sexton, Ingram, and Zion, we have 3 guys that absolutely cannot be single covered. There are either going to be torching defenders one or one or creating all sorts of help and chaos situations resulting in wide open shots for us on most possessions.

Personally, I don’t put much stock in the ballhog stuff. Cleveland is bad and he’s by far the best player on that team. He shares the ball better when Garland is healthy. Sexton still averages 4 assists per game. I see a lot of posters on here wanting Bouknignt out of the draft, who is a far less efficient version of Sexton, that averages 1.8 assists per game.

Sexton, NAW, Ingram, Zion are all players that can average 4-6 assists per game. I think that would be a healthy setup. You don’t always need a true point guard that is dishing 11 assists a game. You can do it effectively by committee and we would also have a team full of players that technically don’t even need to be setup.

We can do what Phoenix does to closeout games. We can just hunt the best 1 v 1 matchup for that particular possession and just go to work. Have Jax bulk up a tiny bit and he can be our bouncier version of Ayton. Part of what makes Ayton so good is due to the way Phoenix’s squad is setup, you can’t double team him and you can’t even put a true center on the floor to keep Ayton off of the boards due to the way Phoenix hunts and abuses switches.

Alabama 3 on 5 for the last 10 minutes of the game.

Fall in love with Collin Sexton with me folks. Guy has heart, desire, and skill.

Don’t let yourself get fooled by Cleveland of all places not knowing what they have in this young man.

I love Sexton’s potential as an elite scoring Guard.

I worry about having to pay him quickly, his ball hog nature and will he be able to defer to Zion/BI, and his atrocious Defense.

I wouldn't mind Sexton. He is an upgrade to what we had this past season. But we are going to resign Ball. Then we have to extend Sexton. Then Zion the next season. That will be four guys over 20M and I am not sure if that is a Championship core. It is kind of risky.

I'd rather roll with a backcourt of Lewis and NAW the next two seasons, see what they got. They have talent. They need minutes and an opportunity..

I’m really cool with Sexton because I think we need a killer at G. But we will need to get some damn good individual defenders to help.

Wait you’re saying trade Bledsoe, Adams, 2 firsts and 2 seconds for Collin Sexton?????? You’ve lost your posting privileges for the day for suggesting something so fricking stupid. Why don’t we just trade Zion to the Knicks for Julius Randle straight up while we’re at it?

That and he’s gaining a bad reputation as a ball hog and not a team player. Difficult to square that if your best offense will mean Zion and BI have the ball in their hands 50% or more of the time.

If Zion/Ingram can't put Sexton in his place regarding ball hoggery then they'll never be the leaders this team needs them to be and this build is screwed already. I'm not saying that as a reason to target Sexton, but unless his selfishness is inherent and extreme, I think you have to believe you can reign it in.

I think one question to ask is who would you rather be playing low $20 million to, Sexton or Buddy? Does Buddy give the Pels enough of the extra shot making they're looking for without as much acquisition cost and other headaches?

Sexton scores 24pts a game while being top 5 in double teams and top 5 in worst spacing.

No, no he isn’t. But he would be a nice addition to team… nonetheless. I love attacking guards

I’m also of the mindset that we’re going to pay Mr. Lonzo Basketball very handsomely and I could see

Random question but did Kira and Sexton ever share the court during their Bama days?

Nice stats. Sexton is also a dog. He’s fiery as frick. We only have 1 and a half guys on the team that are like that right now.

Jax and Zion half the time. I think part of our issue is we have too many composed lowish energy guys. Sexton will fearlessly run through brick walls and hopefully the energy will be infectious with our guys.

He’s also a good/great guy off the court in the community. I think he’s a no brainer. He’s an uber talented up and coming player that fits the Zion and BI timeline better than someone like a Beal or Lillard and his trade value is depressed enough to still have an above average asset pile in place to utilize in future deals even if we “overpay” for Sexton.
