Dude Norris cole gets into the paint. Do you watch games? He also brings ton of energy to games. It's apparent you just don't like him bc every time somebody says something about him you tell them they are crazy

And since when is not having a good 5th guard a thing we don't need. See this past season when we had to play jimmer and rivers at same time. Arguememt over

He is capable of getting into the paint and when he does he can't finish at the rim which is why he always uses the floater.

No part of Coles game is elite. He's and average shooter, he's an average defender that appears much better because he gives maximum effort.

Austin Rivers got into the paint "at will" too. Doesn't mean much if you don't do anything with it.

Finally something true.

Not true at all. He works hard. He is a pro. He is a good defender for a guy his size. I get why people like him.

He's just not a particularly good NBA player.

But they didn't. Monty had no clue how to manage rotations. Even with Holiday out, he would sit all 3 of Gordon, Evans, Davis routinely. It was clear to anyone with a pulse that was dumb. Norris Cole doesn't change that equation. At all.

Neither one of these are remotely true. I have no words if this is where you're coming from

OK
How about you just hit the search button and type Norris Cole and go back and look what everyone has said about him all season.

There was also this nugget from when he was signed.
The Norris Cole Invasion

quote:

The disruption he’s capable of causing is readily apparent in Miami’s game film, but a dig into the numbers is necessary to do it real justice.

• The Heat have allowed opponents only a 101.3 offensive efficiency with Cole on the court this season, according to NBA.com, a per-possession points allowed rate that would rank eighth in the NBA; it is also 2.2 points per 100 possessions better than the Heat’s mark without Cole on the floor.

• Heat opponents score fewer points in the paint, shoot a lower percentage from the field (45.3 percent vs. 46.8 percent) and from 3 (32.8 percent vs. 41.4 percent), and generate fewer assists both overall and as a percentage of their field goals made when Cole is in the game.

I'm not trying to say he an all-star, but he's a legit backup PG that any team would be more than happy to have.

Either way we were having to play jimmer and rivers. Trading cole puts us in same situation with different players if any injury happens. Or when basically.

He is a really pesky defender, no doubt, but he is not elite.

Let's agree to disagree and keep this thread on KJ. Whether you like Cole because you think he's basketball Jesus or hate him because Jen Hale is always flirting with him, the question is would you trade him for KJ McDaniels, not how good he is or isn't relative to fringe NBA players.

maybe not elite, but he's above average without a doubt.

If it came down to it, yes. But i feel we can get him without giving up Cole.

If Dell can somehow pull off getting KJ and keeping Cole...

We're looking at a bench of Cunningham, Ryno, Ajinca, Cole, Reke, and Kj plus 2 more guys that may or may not contribute.

That's some pretty legit depth IMO. Just hope we can stay healthy so that remains our 2nd unit and not our starters.

Cole will be far more valuable than KJ this year, and by the time KJ develops, he will be seeking another contract. Get him then if he pans out, or better yet, just get your future SF next summer.

I doubt KJ signs some low paying 4 yr deal. And I don't think he is a sure fire starter in this league. I would take him for nothing, but no chance I am giving up an asset for him

I really don't see giving up much of anything for KJ as a viable option. Definitely not a player of any note. Just wait out the JSmoove situation or offer to send them a conditional 2nd or Withey. If its a no, move on.

100% agree. I feel like a lot of people are just starved to get a new player on the roster so they are willing to do a lot more than necessary to get him.

You would think that would be me since I've been critical of not adding any new faces, and I really like McDaniels.

But it would be nuts to give up Cole or anyone of value.

Conditional 2nd, Player like Withey, etc.

Ditching Cole for this guy isn't an upgrade. Then we're screwed at backup point when jrue inevitably has to miss time. This is where auctioning off your draft picks nearly ever year really hurts. We need decent bodies for the bench.

Trade away an above average bench player and solid contributor for a prospect who wouldn't contribute at all this year and may never contribute. Damn they should have hired you as GM
