Gosh I wish we could have gotten Kevin Love. Hell even Cody Zeller would have helped.

This season is just been so depressing knowing our frontcourt issues are just not being addressed. We need length and rebounding.

Pretty much in the dark on how things work (trade-wise)...but if I was pulling the strings and there was ANY way possible...I woulda forced my way right into the middle of that Nets/Suns deal...and SOMEHOW, come out with my new favorite player on the rise...Mikal Bridges (with Claxton thrown in).

Everybody but Zion would be available to make the deal work. (Although I would really hate to lose Dyson or even (of course), Herb and I guess Trey would be my next preferred keeper)

If we were competing for rings maybe. We aren’t there yet

if Pels hadn’t had the injury issues and remained in the top 4 I believe Mrs. B would’ve been inclined to make a major move at the deadline. For now Pels under the cap playing with house money. Lets see what the Pels are about as they return to full health.

We have no idea if those 2 players are on the block (why would they be? They’re young and good), and even if they were available, it would have cost us 5- 6 firsts to pull it off

Nets turned down an offer of 4 firsts for bridges, fyi

Teams getting buyout guys tend to be either destination teams (NYC, LA, Miami areas) or strong contenders getting ring chasers.

We are never going to be the former. We aren’t the latter yet and, even if we were, we didn’t have a roster space to spare on one of those guys.

Nets still think they are going to contend. Taking firsts isn’t going to help them much considering how much they owe to Houston (outright picks plus swaps).

Yep...best time to try & swing deal was during Nets/Suns trade...I think Mikal is only gonna get better & better. By end of year...he'll demand even more for a trade to get him

Basically this

Small market without a history to draw on will need to be proven contenders to pull buy out guys worth a shite

But it also could be an issue cause of the depth we project to have. Yes it’s imbalanced with not enough shooting, but guys look at that too unless they just want to ride coattails

Pretty sure we did try that, but the Nets weren’t truly interested in moving Bridges.

True.

Guys will look at where they want to be based on minutes / offensive system.

Terrence Jones, for example, threw a hissy fit and demanded out in the wake of the Cousins trade because he was pissed it would potentially impact his next contract being stuck behind Boogie.

Which was also said about the likes of the Warriors, Heat, Mavs, and pretty much every team not the Lakers and Celtics at some point.

If Milwaukee can win a championship so can New Orleans.

It’s tiring to keep seeing these we should have traded for Bridges threads. Nets have absolutely zero incentive to tank since they stupidly gave away their future. Numerous first round picks woukd do them no good.

If they flame out in the playoffs then what good do role players do them? Maybe they hold onto Bridges hard, but how many picks does it take to turn JV and Naji into Claxton and DFS?

Getting real rotation players back let’s them tread water and stay respectable while gaining assets to find a star to add to the mix.

I 1000% would have given up 6 1sts as quickly as I could for Bridges and Claxton, but I still highly doubt the Nets would have taken that deal.

They have their 2023 pick, so it would’ve been the best thing for them this year to try to get a quick blow up and tank job in as Houston only has swap rights, and they’re the worst team in the league, so Brooklyn could’ve pretty much assured themselves a top 4 pick if they would’ve taken the sell everything approach

What? You think the nets can tank and get a top 4 draft THIS season?

They’re already won 34 games. There’s 4 teams that wouldn’t pass them if they literally lost out
