From an unbiased perspective it seemed the whole thing up there was a mess

in the Scotto news there was no information about when it was discussed

no other respected writer even commented on this one. at least I haven't seen it

it is in Pels interest to send this inormation to other teams. we will see what will happen

Please be true that we leaked this to get PHX and BKN to stop dragging arse on a trade and take their first while they can.

It's not terrible if we are not giving up a pick, but I do not like Reggie Jackson and do not want him for any reason.
Unless he has matured by leaps and bounds, he'll never accept the role we would want him to play.

I think Scotto was the first (or one of the first) to report the potential Cousins trade.

That is exactly it...he will not accept the role we want/need him to play. He will not play team ball and ensure that Cousins and Davis get their shots.

This is a guy who was consistently jacking up ill-advised contested mid range jump shots with a Kevin Durant on his team.

Maybe. But why Lowe, Duncan, Leroux whoever, did not commented on it? They are replying to anything...

I heard them yesterday. Those guys are not a fan of the Pels. I don't see how anyone thinks the Clippers or Jazz are better than the Pels at this point.

most national observers arent. and these arent hot take kings either. Prada is good. i listen to Open Floor- probably my favorite NBA pod- and neither Sharp nor Golliver mentioned the Pels as a potential playoff team in the West

Clippers or Jazz

if Griffin is healthy, i can see it. but betting on his health is foolish at this point.

Jazz still have Gobert and a fairly deep roster. they won 51 last year w/ atrocious health. even losing Hayward, they're still going to be tough

I'm not sure any rational observer would be comfortable putting NOP top 10 in the west right now. Too many questions

I just don't see how they have an offense good enough to be a playoff team.

I just feel like it's absurd that they blew off Pawel's question "did they watch the Pels' games with both AD and Cousins". Just like the rest of the national media, you can tell that they didn't and that they were just following the narrative that Davis and Cousins won't work.

100 times out of 100 they are better than Sacramento, Dallas, Phoenix, and the Lakers. That puts them at worst 11th. I don't think it's crazy (for even the national media) to put them on the same level as the Clippers, Jazz, Blazers, and Grizzlies. But they automatically assume that these teams are better than the Pels for some reason.

because neither the coach, the front office or the players have any track record of success. the west is gonna be tough this year

BTW happy 90th to mr benson

That reason would be more recent and frequent playoff success. I don't think any national guys besides maybe Bill Simmons have called the Pels a dumpster fire yet, but I think most of them are thinking it. Winning reflects on the organization as much as the players and coaches, and so does losing.

Vegas does and they are a hell of a lot smarter than the national pundits.

MM seems to like the potential of this move, and he's usually not shy about saying what he doesn't like, so the team must be convinced his knee is ok. If there were ever 2 GMs I'd want making a decision about player health Dell Demps and Jeff Bower are the 2 I'd choose. I'm not sure what you guys are so worried about.

We are pot committed for this season. Why not take a risk on a talented guard getting healthy if it doesn't cost a pick? If this was last summer people would think it is amazing.

If other teams believe we are going to do this, they may come off their current asking prices too.

I don't like this trade very much. It feels like desperation.
