Liddell is a trust your eyes kinda guy. There’s a place for him in the league

If Liddell is what they think he is, competence at the backup 4 drastically changes this team in an 82 Game season where the two starting forwards miss so much time.

Lidell shows solid backup pf potential and Nance can be moved.

Well this is a really good sign that they felt the need to sign him to that deal. I would expect him to get some decent playing time this year.

If
1. Liddell/ Hawkins are legit
2. Dyson/ Jose take a step
3. Trey continues to improve

Then we could potentially get rid of Nance/ CJ, pay Trey/ Jose, resign Val, and build organically as a whole.

Focus on finding a franchise center while still having Val and every other spot set. Would be nice

Oh and stay healthy of course….

We better not re-sign JV

If he comes at a great price, resign him. But most likely that money is going towards Murphy and Ingram.

It's all about price vs other realistic options. We do not currently seem to have a legit starting caliber center waiting in the wings, so if JV walks (or even misses an extended period) it will leave us in a bind without another option.

At worst you can still flip him for good value because center seems to be a pretty hard position to fill these days.

It cost us several assets to unload Graham last season. We don't want to wait until we reach a point of desperation to stay under. That's how you get fleeced.

It's like some of these posters weren't around for the mess created by sending out Robin Lopez. Val is a net-positive center. That's not easy to replace.

4 seconds, IIRC.

While you occasionally find gold in the second like Herb or Jokic, those picks typically get spent on people who barely see the floor.

IMHO, that clusterfrick was caused by Dell creaming himself for Tyreke.

I’d have rather kept Vasquez and Sideshow Rob then figured out something later than taken a guy with no range considering our spacing issues with AD. And this isn’t just hindsight… I wasn’t thrilled about Tyreke at the time, especially when we lost Lopez.

I think his point was Demps mistakenly believed he could get a good enough center to replace Lopez and he was wrong. If you can get Jonas to take MLE money or less next season, you keep him as part of the center committee.

That's 100% what happened, and it's why I call Tyreke the dumbest signing in franchise history. It was a small step forward and a huge step back.

Curious about the timing. I wonder why they did not wait to see how he does in the SL and if he comes through healthy.

The two minutes I watched had me worried that Matkovic might kill somebody out there. Like his attitude though.

I assume that they saw what they needed to see in practices.

ACL injuries aren't as bad as they used to be. They still take time to recover, but you come back as good as you were.
