Kobe in 96

Karl Malone in 85

History says we are getting a HOF at 13!

McNamara is HEAVILY pushing the Unload Lonzo for Pick 8 to the Knicks bandwagon.

What are the thoughts on that?

I don't believe anyone has to worry about "wanting AD back". It's the mother of all delusions.

Most of us would have been happy trading Lonzo for 6-8 last year, I don't see why this year would be much different. It's just too early in building around Zion to start locking into overpaid contracts and I think that's where you'd end up with Lonzo.

If Killian Hayes is on the board I’d do it in a heartbeat.

The draft this year gives me a lot of pause. I feel like 6-8 this year feels closer to 10-12 in a normal draft year.

I’d want future picks in deals more but I don’t think Zo gets you that.

Then don't do the deal. Taking out the recency bias, Zo had a pretty good year and showed a lot of growth. I would like to see how he could work in a more structured offense. He will always have the ability to push the ball up the court to leakers, which is a pretty unique skill.

At his age, I think he still has a lot of upside. Probably more upside than just about anyone available with the Knicks pick. I honestly didn't expect to feel this way, as I was not overly thrilled about getting him in the trade, but that's where I am now.

The issue is that unless he is just flat out great next year, you aren’t going to have another opportunity to move him for anything of value. He will be an RFA and someone is likely to pay him and if they don’t, we likely will. I’d hate to have to pay Zo 22 million a year with just incremental improvements.

This is likely your only shot.

It’s get something of value now, or hope he takes it to the next level and pay him 100 mill.

Seems we can get more than that for him right now. 8 this year doesn't excite me. I'd ask for a future #1 before I take 8.

Ball can work only if the Pelicans find the Ying to his Yang. Ball needs a relentless/attacking 3 level scorer next to him for it to work in the long run. If they can find a scorer that can hand the load in the half court and allow him to be a spacer where he’s limited, it may work out. Ball would need to take a team friendly deal for me to buy in.

That's a solid point. The Lakers inability to develop young players with LeBonk retarding their growth has put him on a weird schedule.

I think that's my biggest issue, too. I just don't see that 8 as being much better than our 13 at all.

What if Minnesota comes to you and says we need to win now with DAR and KAT before KAT gives up on this franchise and asks out. Let's talk a deal involving Jrue, #1 overall, and Jarrett Culver.

I ask them if they would like me to purchase the plane ticket or if they will handle it

As do I.

I would sniff around Atlanta as well. They made the move for Capela last year. Are they wanting to accelerate their timeline? Do they want to hold on to pick #6 when they are already developing Trae, Reddish, Hunter, Huerter and Collins? Come away with Killian, Huerter, and future picks; ATL goes Trae/Jrue/Hunter or Reddish/Collins/Capela.
