Thread on the MSB about him being on the trade block. I really believe he could be a good fit here. Zion and Ben would be quite the tandem. What do you guys think?

If this bum would commit to actually getting better and developing a decent jumpshot, then yeah, but he has been lazy so far in his career and what you see is what you get with him. I don't see anything changing with him anytime soon.

Why? He can't shoot, he wilts in crunch time, he refuses to work on his game, he is overpaid.

We should be a third team in the trade that sends Simmons elsewhere, but that's the closest we need to get to him.

I’m not sure about being a good fit here.

And he’s bad at shooting.

Only if we get him to sign a statement saying he will shoot 1000 shots a day and will play center

Absolutely we should. We as a franchise arent in a position to be picky, buy what he can be and not what he is. Work on him mentally first, and maybe he is a Ticket to long term success

You can't work on him, he has to work on himself. Philly tried to get him to work with a shooting coach and his agency, the same home wreckers that shoved AD out the door, said "No thanks, he'll work with a family member on his shooting this summer."

If it were that simple Philly would have already fixed him and he wouldn't be on the trade block.

Personally I think Ben and Luka or Ben with all the shooters on the Jazz would be a better fit than him in New Orleans.

I love Ben’s defense, but we’ve seen how little that can matter against offensively skilled players that have a rhythm and the ability to draw fouls.

Spacing wise he doesn’t work on our roster and the fact that he is with Klutch is a huge turnoff as well.

Also, Ben has been the same type of player his entire life. I don’t ever see him changing that much.

Literally not a worse fit in the league next to Zion in a max guy.

I know I’m in the minority, but I’d love to get him, but if we do, he’s playing the 5.
When he realizes how great he would be as a center in the half court, he and his team will flourish. A Zion/Simmons pick and roll with 3 great catch and shoot 3 point shooters would be deadly. Those two are the most unstoppable players in the league once they get a head of steam towards the rim.
Even giving Simmons the ball in the post would work b/c traditional 5’s cannot stay in front of him, and he’s got more than enough touch around the basket to shoot over shorter defenders with his jump hook.

Play the 5, get 15 rebounds a game starting the break, dish out 10+ assists a game and maybe score 12 points a game. Basically do what Lonzo did this year and get off the ball in the half court, just do it down low instead of on the perimeter.

Let’s get less spacing sounds like a great idea

Not being picky and taking on a player who refuses to get better at basketball are 2 different things.

If he was on a rookie contract maybe but he already makes crazy money. On top of that he wouldn't want to be here.

He literally couldn’t be a worse pairing with Zion.

I like Simmons

But it’s maybe the word pairing I could Think if because they both have the same gloating weakness: they’re both 1 level scorers.

And I think they would compound that issue
