If everything is true about Ty Lue, it makes sense since he is serious about his image and how much money he can negotiate. It makes sense why his agent would leak this news which in turn outside of making him a dirty capitalist, helps make him look like a hot shot coaching candidate and negotiating with other teams for potential higher pay

There definitely seems to be a component with Lue that he wants the most amount of years and money and will leverage everyone to get it.

I know almost everyone wants that, and maybe I'm wording it poorly. But it definitely seems to be heightened with him after last year's Lakers negotiations and this year hes been in play for every job, and his name is leaked to all of them seconds after they are open.

Do the pels have 9 assistant coaches? Only way they interviewed 9 and no word got out.

Ehhhh when I say connections I mean working with each other, on the same team, staff, front office, etc. I get the agent connection but agents represent so many people that its hard for that to matter too much.

Brett Brown resigned from head coach of the Australia National Basketball team today. Seems like odd timing given the Olympics are a ways off.

JJ is still a fan:
quote:

We're all aware of [the criticism of Brown], right? I know there's some level of - I don't know what the word is - maybe animosity? And displeasure? It's always easy to blame certain people, but I would love to play for Brett again. I don't think Brett is the problem, if there's a problem. Sometimes things just don't work. [...] You can dissect this season with Philly however you want, and you can probably go in a lot of different ways with that.

quote:

Redick: I just want to say one thing, specifically. Played for Brett for two years, played for Alvin this year, played for Alvin my first year in L.A., when he was an assistant coach with Doc Rivers, and I've got to say, both of them are two of the greatest humans I've been around in the NBA. Two of the greatest people, just incredible class acts, both of them. I feel very fortunate to have played for both of them. [...] Specifically with Brett, a seven-year run in Philly is crazy, given where -

Does greatest human= will be friends with the players and won't set the tone? I honestly don't know a lot about Brown but this seems like Gentry 2.0 by the comment. We need either a really smart guy that will force the players respect (analytically) or an a-hole that can push our players (mentally).

I don't know the full context of the quotes, but greatest human sounds like "she's got a great personality" to me.

This seems to be in response to news about Brett though. JJ has brought up Doc and SVG often without timely news to prompt him. They clearly mean a lot to his basketball beliefs. I've never heard him mention Alvin or Brett out of nowhere when just talking basketball before.

He has defended Brett Brown on multiple occasions. He seems to think the 76'ers issues are on Brand and Brown was just the sacrificial lamb for problems that were beyond his control.

Well, he's not entirely wrong.

That would be awesome, but that doesn't seem like a very reliable source.

I'd be fine with either Craig or Quinn, although i think we are looking for someone who isn't that young.
Craig is 38, Quinn is 37

I think both have plenty of NBA experience though, which is what i like about both of them, Craig much more so than Quinn.

Soggy and Bunch already down 1 out of 9.. Also my final 4 is still alive.

I don't think Quinn is coming for an interview. That was for the Pacers and then it just says Craig is coming here for an interview also.

If this is legit

well i doubt either of them were able to actually interview other than a zoom call until this week. So if one of them impressed enough in the zoom call, and made it to the in person interview, that's why it would be talked about now with a guy like Craig, so don't see why it doesn't sound legit.

After a quick scan, that @miaheatbeat twitter account that said it had sourced info on Dan Craig also made reference to personal conversations with Solomon Hill. That sounds like a blogger/podcaster with a press pass, so it might be legit info.

They do a podcast and etc.

They may have legit info. Just taking a slight grain of salt.

But it would be nice if we did interview Craig and he was in consideration.

Is it possible that Solomon is vouching for us? Is Solomon Hill going to help land us our future coach?

His contract is up. He's vouching to stay in the NBA with a possible future coach, b/c the magic 8ball told him outlook not so good on his future in the NBA.
