I realize this is a load of information, let me know if you have any questions about the data and I'll see if I can do my best to answer it lol. Had a lot of fun looking through it all though!

This is the same graph as above, just with all of the Western Conference:

I could be wrong but this tells me we have good perimeter defenders but lack rim protection

I don't know what I'm looking at but if I had to guess:

Nance, Herb and Dyson are good at defense.

Graham is terrible and Zion isn't much better.

So here's the Southwest division. To kind of help make sense of the graph, I'll try and explain it. So the "D-LeBron" is named after LeBron, but it's not actually trying to compare any player to LeBron. It's just an acronym. 0 equals average, and anything -2.7 is G-League level player (saying Doug McDermott is very very bad defensively, and Dillon Brooks is very very good).

Actually, Herb is probably the BEST wing defender in the NBA and is playing better defensively THIS year than last year. He just hasn't had the ESPN top 10 moments of blocking 3-pt shots that he had last year. I would normally say Mikal Bridges is the BEST (last year's runnerup for defensive player of the year) but Herb has passed Mikal, mainly due to Mikal taking on more of the offensive load for the Suns lately.

This is all NBA wings, 550 minutes or more.

This is a fun one, defensively versatility. Higher up the graph you are, more positions you defend. Lower you are, you stick to just your position. Tyrese Maxey defends only guards, OG defends every position.

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like we lack pick and roll screen defensive and rim protection with Jonas in lineup.

Tells me I’d like to see Luke Kennard in a Pels uniform. Sharpshooter that plays surprisingly solid D, and apparently the Clippers are trying hard to move him.

Christian Wood is a shitty defender?

The HELL, you say.

That's definitely one where the eyeball test meets the analytics.

Pusc,

Does this mean that Herb is a very good player regardless of what the counts on Pels talk say every time the Pels are down in a game?

This graph supposedly does a good job showing a guys value offensively and defensively, and if one outweighs the other to the point that it’s not beneficial to play the player. Definitely interesting to see how much more these statistics favor Herb offensively over Dyson.

Dyson is on the same level as guys like Matisse Thybulle according to this.

With all of the LOADS Lebron takes you would think he would be the worst player in the league.

Unless I’m missing something, Zion and BI’s O-Lebron is really good (Z’s is almost off the chart) and their D-Lebron is essentially neutral. That is very encouraging.
