Got cold and made no adjustments. That's poor coaching.

I wasn't defending him. I was saying we have a poor head coach. I'm still watching the fricking game, thus the anger of watching a rudderless ship when bench poise was needed.

That doesn't matter. 12 point lead into the 4th quarter and everyone in this thread was asking themselves how we were going to blow it
12 point leads on the road evaporate with regularity in the NBA. This loss is on the lack of depth. They weren't able keep up the defensive intensity which had been getting them easy shots and kept Portland out of sync and on their heels. I'm much more excited than disappointed. Imagine this team with Asik and a few better bench players, they'd have won it handily.

Not hitting FTs bit us in the arse too.
I'm upset about this one

4/23 in the 4th. Holy shite that's epically bad. And it was all just bad shots to take.
That's because we went to the dumb fricking pick and roll. Run iso and give Davis the ball every possession in that situation.

Should have called a time out sooner to calm everyone down as portland clawed their way back too.
We just let it roll one-two posession too long, and I cannot comprehend why our guards have the stickiest fingers ever. Jeez.

Terrible fricking coaching. Just run clear outs to AD for the last 4 minutes and we win.

Nahbrah, season is over.

still don't see how this is Monty's fault. We got cold. it sucks, but it happens.
Its been explained. What do you not understand? Lamarcus Aldridge was exploiting the mismatch of Rynos absolute dogshit defense. Monty did no such thing with Davis with Robin Lopez trying to guard him. When he actually went at him, he scored 2 out of 3 times including the 2 free throws. Yet he took his chances with Tyreke Evans layups.

i'm a little pissed at how they lost, but i'm definitely excited. this team is legit. i kept thinking to myself during the third, "even if we lose this game, it's huge for them to make this sort of showing." i'm excited.

i don't blame Monty for this, i blame reke and jrue not spreading the ball around in the last 10 minutes
Exactly this. Do you guys really think Monty just told Reke and Holiday to drive into the paint and take heavily contested shots as his game plan for the 4th quarter? That was on the players. They didn't distribute.
Posted on 11/17/14 at 11:24 pm to TigerinATL
The problem is, we can't suddenly get better bench players but we could get rid of the garbage that is Monty.

Yep, not winning a championship this year, but there are things to be learned from a game like this.

Stop kidding yourself, if we play below average offense and defense we can still win that game. We played horrendously. Everyone knew it was going to happen to, it was obvious.

Is he TOTALLY at fault? No but don't act like he's innocent.

we got plenty of stops in the 4th. We just couldn't get a good shot off.

And people are forgetting how amazing our defense was for most of the game. It was bad in the 4th, but that tends to happen when you miss almost every shot.

I blame Holiday and Reek for this one
And a little bit Monty, but mostly them
