Going to need a miracle to draft a nice pick at 23

Jesus Christ, any injury can lead to a bigger injury. You guys are so quick to point the incompetence finger at Dumars that you'll complain about anything he does (or doesn't do).

Halliburton will be fine. The 2025/26 Pacers will not be a lottery team. Find something else to complain about.
Still think the timing of the trade made sense?

Even if the pacers are in the middle of the pack which I bet they will since they got Carlisle. I agree we jumped the gun too fast

The pick was top 4 protected so them getting the number one pick wouldn't matter anyway. That team is still a playoff team without Halliburton. The timing of the trade doesn't make sense in terms of wanting that pick. Those are normally done on draft night if the guy you want is still available. I'm taking the let's see what happens approach as I'm thinking it's going to be part of a deal to move up or part of a deal for a player. Let's just see how it shakes out.

I was being a little facetious with them having the first pick, but it will almost certainly be 6-14

Again I didn’t mind the trade but the process is awful and does not reflect well on Dumars. This trade would have been there on draft night. Why not wait till this series is over, or wait till the draft to see if there’s someone you want that falls?

Other GMs gotta be looking at this trade and licking their chops when they see Dumars. Dumars is like the weak buffalo in the herd and the lions will target him.

My guess is the Pelicans already have a deal in place. I don’t think you make that trade, at that time, with the thought of selecting a player at 23.

If the Pelicans draft at 23 then I will view the trade as a fail.

Yeah I think he panicked and tried to get this trade early to do another trade of moving up. Then reports of Ace coming out and it doesn’t look good at all for us.

I just hope he's not a Demps repeater, trading young athletic talent for over the hill veterans that don't contribute anything to the team.

Lol, if this were true it would’ve been done already, or you would at least hear chatter about it.

We now officially have the worst HC in the league and the worst FO personnel. Yay Pelicans

Yea, it would make no sense since the 26 Pacers pick was always more valuable as a trade asset than the 25.

They clearly have a guy they want at 23. Let's just hope they hit on him or we'll be hearing about this for the next 5 years.

The problem is that they have no idea who will be available at 23. So, they cannot clearly have a guy they want at 23. The smart teams wait until draft night to see who may be available and make a trade contingent on their player being available.

Yup. Makes me worried who they draft at 23. Because the only way they know someone would be there is if they reached for him. So we should start looking at picks 38-55 in the mocks and the answer of who the Pels are drafting at 23 is probably there.

Dumars is trying to trade up to get Flagg at #3-5, and least that's what he believes
