So we basically gave up DD, Ingram and what might end up being a good pick from us or the Bucks in ‘27 for Murray.

No? We still have the Bucks 27' pick. We gave up the Pacers 26' which is the WORST current future asset we have.

I just don’t see us drafting 3 guys in one draft class. That’s a lot. Most likely we just stay put

I agree from the unorthodox move standpoint. But at the same time we have Jose/ Hawk/ Missi/ Karlo/ Herb as our bench 5.

If we draft Malauch at #7 then that could be a Missi upgrade. And if we drafted 2 more players in rd 1 there like an 85% chance they are both better than Jose and Hawk.

We don’t have the roster spots for our 2 draft picks unless we waive BJ Boston or Elfrid’s non guaranteed deals.

We only have 13 guys on contracts right now and that includes both Payton and Boston?

We would have 15 players with Boston/ Payton and #7/#23 included. If we waive Boston and Payton we are at 11 not 13.

Elfird is an easy waive if it comes down to it

Yeah he makes 3m while Boston makes like 2. If waivers Elfrid. You can always sign him to a 10 day when the inevitable injuries hit us next season

Nobody said anything about a lottery team dumbass. With all the stupid shite you post constantly, you have no right to criticize anyone. Your posts sound like a troll or a child. Durant had a strain that led to an achilles issue. Thompson, Lillard, etc. just recently. May be nothing, but do not understand the need to make the trade before the finals are done and right after the injury. That is all.

The whole point is that the Pacers are not going to be bad next year (you know, a lottery team). All this handwringing over a strained calf is ridiculous. And stupid. All those guys who popped their achillies were OLD. Hali is 25. His tendons are made of rubber. He will be FINE.

People whining about the "timing" of this trade are either stupid or intentionally looking for things to complain about.

No, there’s a good chance the Bucks and us both suck in ‘27. In which case Atlanta will be getting a good pick if that occurs. We get the better of the two picks. Doesn’t mean the pick we shipped out won’t be good.

We would have had #22 this year and now traded Ingram for #23.

So we traded Ingram, DD and and a yet to determined ‘27 pick for Murray.

Unless both picks are in the top 4 which means we would keep both.

Could you be any more of a pessimist? We get the better of the 2 picks. If our pick is #10 and MIL is #2 then we get the #2 that we otherwise wouldn't have and would be picking #10. You are going to spin that into a negative situation? And then assume we will suck in 27'???

I mean just don't comment in the thread if you are that miserable.

Ehhh, the way our luck goes Halliburton is gonna blow his Achilles out in their next game, be out all next season and they will have the 1st pick

Unless, they know something we don’t know I really wished we would’ve considered this and waited til finals are over. Seems like Pacers timing here suggests they are going to play him and wanted to protect themselves. This trade would be here before or after finals and if not we would get this same pick or there about next year. No brainer to wait here, calfs have shown to be precursors to Achilles injuries if your not extremely cautious with them.
