There is no way the average NBA player would agree to play for a team based on Mexico City.
It's a third world country, and they would literally need armed security with each player at all times considering they'd be huge targets for theft since everyone would know how rich they are.
You think any player wants to bring his family to live there?

As an aside. Has anyone really looked at our organizational structure and how bloated it is (LINK )? An efficiency expert would have field day cutting people loose. We literally have more coaches than players. We have more people in the trainer/medical team than players as well. All those people in marketing and production, with no tv deal? It's crazy..
Did you compare our coaching staff with other teams before saying something like this? We have the same size coaching staff as the Heat. Of all the issues with this team, too many employees is not the problem. And why do you care? Are you being taxed more because of amount of employees the Pelicans have? And what the frick is an efficiency expert? Sounds like something billionaires and the media made up to take things away from you.

just don't believe that cities have birthright to teams. NO has to keep up with other cities, that are hungry for a franchise. We will be competing with places like Vancouver, Mexico City, and St Louis. I don't think those have a massive advantage over the Gulf Coast (which should be the Pelicans Market). I just can't buy into the boom/bust theory. There is way forward..

Where did you pull this bullshite from

Could you imagine David stern taking a team away from New orleans and giving it to Mexico?

the relationship btw Zion and the organization and fans is irreparable... it's best for both sides to move on from each other...

Imagine a world where you can reset with a top 3 pick.

Zion - who's value sucks anyway, so just leave him
Herb
Tm3
Missi

A combination of Murray, McCollum, and Ingram being traded for a couple of young guys and maybe like....4 1st round picks, a handful of 2nds and 3 swaps.

Any Pels team that still features Zion is a waste. I am starting to believe that Zion is a special needs young man. He just seems like a simpleton.

He's definitely a dumbass. Dude is costing himself and his family literal millions of dollars because he doesn't care.

we've reached the point where it's painfully clear to me that the only true way to fix this is a change in ownership.

Look at how many smart people will tell you ownership is the most important thing to creating a winning organization...we aren't ever creating anything of the sort with current ownership in the smallest market who hasn't shown any willingness to do what it takes to create that winning organization.

Why is Trey untouchable? We just spent a ton to get Murray and you dont want to keep him?

this franchise is crazy.

If he has to go I want him in the East

We’ve traded Baron, CP3, and AD all to fellow West teams. I want our former guys not seeing us often

Murray is 28, and reached his peak, it's not like we can assume he'll vastly improve. He is what he is, and that's fine, he's solid.

Trey is 24, and especially given how badly we've botched his 1st 4 years, he hasn't come close to reaching his potential ceiling, and I'd argue it's very obvious he is better than what we've seen from him before since we haven't given him opportunities.

You have a fantasy of Trey, shel. It confuses all of your takes. Do you forget that Trey was probably the most disappointing player in the playoffs last year?

You're basically setting yourself up for a roster based on Peter Principal. Trey hasn't earned what you think he deserves.

I don't understand the logic of this sentiment. Daniels plays SG next to Young, who has tremendous gravity. How could we have used him the same way here? The only way it makes sense to keep, and utilize Daniels was to start him and give him a greater role. Who are you sitting?

To me, him and Jones are basically a wash. Can't really play them together. So you can really only keep, and feature, one of them.

Murray is a better player than Daniels. He's not being used correctly here and he has struggled. But he's superior in resume and talent. It's just not working out. Daniels would not have salvaged this season..

The most disappointing player in the playoffs last year was clearly Ingram and that's why he's on his way out instead of getting the max he was hoping for.

Which is what exactly? Be specific...

4 game sample sizes while also not using him correctly does nothing for me.

Do you hold Herb to the same standard for his play in the postseason last year? Did you factor how good our offense looked the previous postseason against Phoenix when Trey was on the floor?

This is the NBA. You get paid on potential, not what you've done in the past. Not sure why I'd have to say that, that's a very obvious statement, that's how the league works.

It certainly sucks, and knowing what we know now, sure I'd also want a do over. But in the moment, the trade was fine.

But also, Dyson doesn't really have a spot here long term unless we got rid of Herb. Herb is better than Dyson, and we don't know if Dyson will ever be as good as Herb, and also may make way more than Herb just 2 years from now.

What? Trey had a tough time, but he looked like a superstar compared to Ingram in that series. And CJ was one of the worst rotation players in the 2024 playoffs.
