So he could not give a shite but is the best defensive wing in basketball. Thought defense is 90% attitude ?

All I see on here is bitching that BI and Zion could give two shits about playing defense. So which one is it? I’m confused?
Do you think someone like Simmons would clog the lane and make things worse for Zion? Spacing would even be worse.

Simmons, like Lonzo, is not a half court PG.
He's great at getting rebounds and pushing the pace, but once he gets in the halfcourt, he needs to play the 5 next to Zion.
He'll figure out the free throw issues, and when he does, he'll be much better.
He's probably the best defender in the NBA.
I think he'd be a great offensive player in the half court if he just played the 5. Set screens and rim run. Get mismatches and post them up.
If he can play the 5 effectively, then he creates so many mismatches on the court for everyone, and allows you to play small, without really being small.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to move Kevin Love in a trade this summer, per @AmicoHoops

"Per sources, potential Love suitors include the Pelicans, 76ers, Heat, Clippers and Trail Blazers."

It would have to be for Adams/Bledsoe and a couple of seconds at most, unless it's a larger trade that also includes us getting something else back of value (Sexton maybe?).

Amico isn’t the most reliable in my opinion.

But trading Bledsoe/Adams for him and getting some kind of pick in the process wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I'll take Sexton, Love, and Nance Jr for Adams/Bledsoe. Give us some picks with it too.

Yeah, the question isn't will Kevin Love be a difference maker, it's will Kevin Love give you more than Bledsoe and Adams.

Right. Love’s contract is beyond putrid. Like totally awful. But he can still play, may be a slightly better fit, and that contract might be a key to matching salary for a star and a ton of picks attached.

Every time trades are prevalent we are connected to Love

I mean, it's no worse than Adams and Bledsoe combined

I would like it because it would open up some more playing time for Hayes and NAW.

I'm assuming due to the connection between Griff and him?

I'll take love over those two and it opens up another roster spot for a draft pick.
Pels need to actually hit on a draft pick or two in this draft.

I would not absolutely hate buying low on Simmons right now. Move him to SF, move Ingram to SG and let Zion man the point/PF. That team might not be top 5, but they could make some noise in the playoffs. Let Vincent work on Simmons shot and see what happens. At worst, he is an open court play maker and a great defender.

Obviously, would rather Beal, Dame or Mitchell, but this shows Zion we are trying.

bledsoe is an albatross.

it's a nice deal. Sexton is a keeper.
love is an Olympian.

In a deal where we send Bled and Adams and get love, sexton, nance back, we’d absolutely be sending at least 3-4 firsts their way lol. We’d also have to add more salary. Some of yall are nuts lol.

That team would have negative spacing

The only way it would somewhat work would be if Hayes turned into a legitimate 3 point threat, and even with that you're looking at at least one extra defender in the paint (because no one is going to guard Simmons on the perimeter). Simmons is basically a non-player in half court offense.

If Zion is playing the Point God position, then we basically need to pair him with 4 shooters to maximize that playstyle.

We’d have to couple that move with grabbing someone like Myles Turner although the spacing he provides is debatable. Having Turner and Simmons would probably mean you have a top 5 defense though as long as the others on the court at least try a little bit.
