Report: Lance Stephenson turning interest towards Lakers, Mavericks as talks with Pacers stagnate
Charlotte could win the east next year.
Silver needs to destroy these conferences ASAP

Keep the conferences for the purpose of limiting travel and let any 16 teams with the best record into playoffs. East would still have a pretty big advantage with the weak schedule, but it would help.

I say end conferences, but keep divisions.
You solve the same travel issues. We'd still play the Texas teams 3-4 times, for example. Then just take the top 16
You really are changing the trajectory of franchises by how screwed the competitive balance is. Minnesota, for example. Would they be forced into trading their franchise player if they just happened to play in the other conference and were making playoff runs every year?
Are we talking about Dell, Monty, being on the hot seat if we just happened to be in the east and made the playoffs last year? I doubt. All of a sudden the perception totally changes. Now we're the up and comer, not the team that tried to rebuild too fast.
We were not a good team last year, obviously. 22 GAMES under .500 vs the west. Yet we were 8 games OVER .500 vs the east. Its ridiculous.

He looks like a slashing SF, only about 30% from 3. Here's his highlight video from last year LINK

Chris Bosh "strongly considering" offer from Rockets for $96 mill over 4 years, source says. ESPN reports Bosh met w LeBron over weekend.
Clarification on precious tweet: ESPN not reporting Bosh and LeBron "met" over weekend, but rather 2 "had convo." Source confirms 2 spoke.

"Everybody but the Miami media understands that Miami can't make improvements w/ roster w/ Wade, Bosh, & LeBron returning.
MIA might actually be in better position to improve their roster if Bosh takes the Rocket offer bc they have more flexibility to add guys."
The last two tweets were a quote from a source whose team is not pursuing LeBron.
Is Miami really better subtracting Bosh and adding say Deng and McRoberts?

One way or another, they need a guy that can play in the post and score.

I'm gonna go with "no".

bosh is a 9 time allstar and has 2 rings
he's a mx level player
houston would be perfect situation for him, plus he'd be back home in texas
that would suck for the pels, but he's be crazy to tack less $$ in miami at this point. he got his rings, got to play with his buddies, now its should be me-time for him
$96MM is a good, good thing

Bosh would help the Rockets but I'm still not convinced that they are going to be major players in the West until they fix some of their other issues like their subpar point guard play and lack of a bench in order to get the flexibility Morey wanted.

bosh/howard/harden/parsons plus MLE-types, rookie deals and ring chasing vets...sounds a lot like the heat (with the obvious exception that nobody else is lebron)
that team doesnt need an elite point guard, and it only needs 2 or 3 solid bench guys

What Bosh would bring more than talent, is the respect that comes from winning. Supposedly Dwight doesn't like to break his nails by being Harden's wing man on Pick and Rolls, likewise Harden didn't want to add another big fish to the team and share the glory with anyone else. Bosh might be able to teach those 2 the value of sacrifice and humility. I'd much rather Melo to the Rockets than Bosh to the Rockets. If Bosh goes there, they will probably jump to contention level.

It needs about 2 competent point guards at the least, given that Beverly is average or less and is now hobbled.
As far as the comparisons go between them and the Heat, let's just say that Bosh is a constant and Harden can be Wade, but I don't see Howard making a Lebron-level impact.

ESPN learned that Josh McRoberts has verbally committed to sign with the Miami Heat
ESPN has learned that McRoberts will receive Heat's full midlevel for the next four years ($23 million) with a player option after Year 3
Pat Riley needs free agent commitments to present to LeBron Jsmes and now he has at least one, beating out Charlotte to Josh McRoberts
So a birdman replacement is supposed to sway LeBron?
Posted on 7/7/14 at 2:11 pm to TigerinATL
May be a sign they're not getting Pau. Probably off on that though.
Posted on 7/7/14 at 2:11 pm to TigerinATL
To be fair though, he's a much better player than Birdman.

I'd say that Deng telling anyone who'd talk to him "Get me the frick out of Cleveland!" should sway LeBron more than this. If he's listening, and I don't think he is because his inner circle is pushing Cleveland hard, including his agent and his wife.

Well said. The Harden/Dwight/Melo trio sounds scary but you're still looking at 3 selfish players and 2/3 who don't give a shite about defense. Still nothing more than a 2nd round exit, IMO.
