It's a gamble we may need to take...I'm with MM, if he can be the McRoberts from his time in Charlotte it's a good pickup.
I think with the cap next year and his age he may want to jump on a sure-fire contender, so I'd believe he'd have a better chance of opting out than not. However, stranger things have happened. Like I said...gamble.

I don't want McRoberts.
I'd rather Hasborough for much cheaper if we are going for nonathletic white guys.
I doubt we find someone at the minimum that has any offensive game, so i'd rather get a big that is athletic, can rebound, and high energy, like McAdoo, Willie Reed, or Thomas Robinson.

I just think that's an extremely long shot. If he is the McRoberts he has been since then, it's a pretty bad pickup that results in a cap hit next year, too.

I agree. I would rather have a fake pick. I think you can get a better big for that same 5 million. But if the Heat said McRoberts- take it or leave it; I would take it. If he could be the McRoberts from the 2 or 3 years ago, he's an ideal fit in a Gentry system.
What's their thoughts on Inglis? Seems to fit what they are looking for in a hungry player looking to prove himself who can ostenisbly guard 2-4, high character and motor. Intriguing end of bench guy.

I would hope we would dump a guy like Babbit in favor of a guy like Inglis or minnerath

If they're going to DNP a guy for half the games id rather it be an upside guy
Babbit does nothing for this team going forward

that is my whole point as well.
We already know what we have in Babbitt, adn he's not going to get better.

Exactly. We know what Babbit can do (shoot) and can't do (everything else). I get filling out the bench with vets if you think you are a contender, but you need to try to develop young upside guys end of bench especially considering our draft absence the past several years and lack of cheap contracts with upside.

Some of you guys taste in players are terrible. Sullinger is fat while trying to get a new contract what do you think will happen when he gets paid?

Nets have been making smart moves

Giving Allen Crabbe 83 million qualifies as a "smart move". Got it.

And yet, people on this board don't think Jrue is worth anywhere near 20 mil
Posted on 7/7/16 at 10:39 pm to Crewz
People on this board don't understand the new cap and that 20 mil is essentially the same percentage he's currently making.
