We need to make a run at Caldwell-Pope. I don't know if we have any money to do it, but he's exactly what we need.

Assuming Washington matches on Otto Porter sheet, Brooklyn will be a strong contender in the pursuit of Caldwell-Pope, sources tell ESPN.

We can't afford his price tag. Good player that can shoot the 3 but not sure if he's worth what he wants.

Is he that good of a shooter? I can't remember the last time I watched the Pistons play, but he's only a 33% career 3PT shooter

I've always felt he was a bit overrated. He will get overpaid by the Nets.

He's basically a worse version of Avery Bradley.

Yeah your right. Thought he was a good shooter. That's what he was known for coming out of UGA.

Yeah when I saw they released him I got excited for a second. Then I looked at his stats. I'll pass

Sources: If Caldwell-Pope's willing to do a one-year balloon deal, the Los Angeles Lakers have significant interest in pursuing him.

Dumb. He'll get a multi-year deal from someone.

I assume Nets will throw out a big offer, but he missed the opening of FA and a lot of the $$$ has dried up. If he doesn't like the nets situation, he could take a 1 year $25-30M deal, take out an insurance policy, and then go into FA next year unrestricted with a lot more options.

cordeaux I'm not trying to argue. I know they can play their small ball lineups, of course they will do their best to tinker with the lineup and find minutes for everyone, and yes many of their players are extremely versatile. maybe getting rid of Bradley will be enough considering he was consuming 33 mins not to mention letting Olynk walk will free up minutes too. All I'm saying is that I dont know if they will have enough minutes to go around.

My line of thought has nothing to do with the Pelicans. It's simply the potential restriction of minutes in Boston next year and the years to follow

That's so unbelievably flawed. Really a pointless excercise right now anyway.

Small note: Knicks offer sheet for THJ has same salary advance structure as Otto Porter's: 50% of annual salary due by 10/1 every season.
