Smart can't score well, he can defend well, and he can run the point efficiently. But I just don't understand the level infatuation with him.

Dude makes Rubio look like a competent shooter.

Damnit Oleh he got me excited for a moment but that's just a clickbait way of saying we're in it

Agree. He is not someone I would want to trade our 1st rounder for. He also only has 1 year left on his deal before become a RFA.

After watching the secondary market, the team may feel they have a shot at keeping him reasonably next year. Or they just watched game 3 vs the Cavs last year only.

I think Marcus Smart is ready to be a good player actually. He was pretty good last year despite not being able to shoot. Really better than pretty good.

Smart and Boogie would be rustling all the Jimmies.

Yeah that's the one thing about him. Smart is a bit of a ruffian.

It would be a good defensive lineup to say the least.

Not enough spacing. At all.

If you got Swaggy you'd almost have to start him at SF.

So who thinks we end up with one of Smart, Lin, or Bledsoe in the near future? Or Crowder or Bradley too.

We would need 3 teams to get involved because I think Boston is looking to offload money so they can bring two of their rookies over. Wouldn't be surprised if Pelicans were able to grab Smart for a protected 1st and QPon going to some other team.

As far as the fit, I don't see how you have Solo and Smart on the floor at the same time. This roster would be kind of a mess. The only real two way players on the roster right now are AD, Boogie, and sometimes Jrue. Seems like we have had this problem forever. I'm Meh on bringing smart over. Maybe Smart/Jrue/Swaggy/Boogie/AD works. But, I would rather have Swaggy coming off the bench as the 6th man, not forced to be a starter.

Nope, they can do this with Toupane and Cook's salaries.

ETA: if we've had clarification that deals signed prior to the new CBA are grandfathered in.

No, we'll end up signing Adreian Payne and some Euro nobody has ever heard of who will be great for five games before he goes to the bench after getting exposed.

Any chance we'll be able to bring back Cunningham with the bi-annual?

this is kind of a big deal if Solo averages 30 mins a game. we said we needed shooters this offseason, it seems like we are going in the opposite direction
