Looks like the market correction is happening much sooner than I expected. Wonder what's gonna happen when teams are locked in these contracts and the next TV deals aren't as large since so many cord cutters.

Most, if not all, of the contracts signed over the last year will be up by the time the next CBA takes effect. The super max guys will still get paid, but the mid-level players are going to see a couple million per year shaved off their salaries.

The new deal runs for another 7-8 years, and by all indications the ratings are up and live sports is what is keeping people from cutting the cord. The reason cord cutting seems to be mainstreaming a bit are services like Sling and PlayStation Vue that let cord cutters legitimately pay for live sports.

Was really really crossing my fingers that Korver would somehow end up in NOLA. I know we talked to him according to some of the grapevine, but I guess it was always a long shot with Cleveland still wanting his services.
