Personally I will pay him 8. Maybe not for4.
Two years with team option for third. 10 a year

Spurs look to offer jonathon simmons $9 million a year. Any way we could try to snag him using the MLE or something? I wouldn't think so but what do you all think?
Posted on 7/2/17 at 8:23 am to Mystictiger
The MLE is less than 9.
Who would you play for? The Spurs for more money or the Pels for less?
Tough choice.

The guys on NBA Weekend on Siriusxm NBA just talked about Boogie as if news came out at Bledsoe's wedding that he was looking to bolt for LA. Suggesting Pels need to move him soon for most assets. Couldn't find anything online about that. Not sure if just BS speculation or I just missed something.

I haven't heard anything similar and that doesn't fit how he's behaved. I will say there's supposedly a lot of extra shoe money you earn by being in LA. If this is true I hope he tells them point blank about it. Although if he's hell bent on LA he won't have any trade value.

I think if Pelicans make the playoffs, he is going to stick around. Have to remember it would be his first time. If not, his "Loyalty" brand is going to take a pretty big hit. Lol.
Besides that, I don't think LA would be a place that will sell him as the star. Pelicans have done a good job branding Boogie and AD as co-stars.

Even if he wanted to go to the lakers it seems like he would be fall back option for them. They seem to have there sights set on the best guards/wings available next year.

It was just odd hearing them talk about it, but not seeing anything online. It seemed like they were suggesting something came out at Bledsoe's wedding that he doesn't plan to re-sign. Makes report s of him recruiting odd.

NBA free agency began at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday with some of the league's most influential people in town for the wedding of Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe is represented by sports agent Rich Paul, who also manages the career of lifelong friend LeBron James.
Rich Paul and LeBron is definitely not the crowd you want Cousins hanging with. Did the Pels piss off Rich Paul by not throwing a lot of money at Norris Cole? That's the only guy Demps has never caved on.

Yeah, the Carmelo wedding thing there was an actual quote. But this might not be about vowing to play with someone but that LA shoe money is bigger than 8% raises. DeRozan was considering LA over Toronto because of it last year. But he still chose Toronto. If there is any truth to this they either need to trade for Boogie's boy Bledsoe to give him another reason to stay or they need to end FA now and open up cap space to lock Cousins down this year.
