First national TV game is against the Warriors, but the season starts 3 days before so it might be our second game.
ETA: It'll definitely be the second game, every team that played on the Friday of the opening week last season, also played a game prior to that.

I agree on Diallo. And Lopez is a useful player.
But if we project minutes based on what they looked like post trade (some caveats there), a 3rd big just isnt playing much. Ajinca got 12mpg in 13 of 22 games before they shut both Davis and Cousins down. Perhaps Lopez gets more regular time because he is better, but I doubt it is significantly more. And to me, that type of minute allotment seems like a good fit for a young, project type big like Diallo.
Now, those minutes were with Cunningham (25mpg in 21 of 22 games). Maybe they have to save this Lopez money to bring Cunningham back. Or maybe they can release Crawford, like ATL put forth, and keep that pick for something more useful.

while i agree, is it that impossible to dump QPon?

I think they probably want to see what Qpon has left, before dumping him.

If QPon is going to play this year then you probably don't want to trade him because a healthy QPon is exactly the kind of player this team needs. If he's not going to play this year another team needs a reason to take on his $3.8 million salary. Does Demps want to send out say $4 million in cash considerations with QPon? That's a lot of money to send out when you're only allowed to send $5.1 for the year. $4 million might be enough to buy a pick in the mid-late 30s, an area of the draft Demps has a new affinity with.
So it may not even be Crawford vs. shot knee QPon, in Demps' mind but Crawford vs. the next Diallo/Jackson.

Thats a shame really. I honestly feel like Bass is the kind of dude who could be in a wheel chair and still grind out solid minutes.

Nerlens Noel has signed his qualifying offer with Dallas.
No one is quite sure whether Dallas lowballed him or whether Noel and his agent played hardball and lost. The agent is the same one who represents KCP and blew his negotiations with Detroit resulting in him becoming a UFA.

His old agent said they turned down $70 million. I'm guessing that's over 4 years or $17.5 per. It will be interesting to see how the market changes and if turning down Biyombo money was a mistake.

It looks like they tried to play hardball, but walked up to the plate with a whiffle ball bat.
