Free agent Thabo Sefolosha has agreed to a two-year, $10.5M deal with the Utah Jazz, league sources tell The Vertical.

Joel just said Pels have cap space and heard they have something up their sleeve in terms of getting a shooter. That's an interesting nugget.

He must have meant cap space within an exception. Holiday signing his deal closed the window on using cap space.

I was just more interested in him casually dropping that he heard the Pels have something up their sleeve for a shooter.

You think it's a trade? I just looked at the available FAs and was underwhelmed. Guys that are shooters that also are in low enough demand or have a close enough connection with the team that they might be content to wait out some moves the Pels have to make would probably be:
Barbosa
Brandon Rush
Morrow
Brian Roberts

Not sure, but the way he said it made it seem like something more than a minimum type talent.

Myers said the same thing on NBA radio last week. Don't think he's talking about anyone specific

He's just talking. I don't think he has or is privy to any specific information.

Someone had been throwing around Troy Daniels last week. I haven't paid too much attention to Memphis but I guess McLemore makes him expendable and he fits in our trade exception?

I think Joel is very close to the org and probably knows more than anyone not working for the front office. He just doesn't share much. The wording was interesting in saying he heard they have something up their sleeve. Not just that they wanted to sign a shooter, but actually seemed to indicate their is a move that is not expected.

So, the NBA has changed the trade deadline to "the second Thursday before All-Star weekend." That pushes it up to February 8, 2018. Glad they waited a year...

You forgot Afflalo, who has shot 40% the last 3 years. No reason to not pick him up on cheap 2 year deal.

I like Afflalo but that list was players that would wait for the Pels. I figure Afflalo's got enough demand to not wait on us, especially after we had to pull the offer on the last guy that was waiting for us.

He actually mentioned a specific player on the radio, though I can't remember who. It wasn't a FA, it was a trade. And it wasn't a guy anyone is talking about
"I think the Pels will go out and get a ____"
The main move is going to come from a trade

Knicks and Rockets move closer to trade as Pelicans want in
ESPN reported a fourth team is being solicited to inherit at least one of the contracts. A fourth team has yet to be finalized, but ESPN reported both clubs remain “motivated’’ in making this happen.
The Pelicans, once the home of Ryan Anderson, expressed interest in being one of the clubs involved, according to a source.
