Give us Lemonhead back
Posted on 7/12/17 at 5:56 pm to Sammobile
Lemonhead is staying in Houston.

What the hell could we give and get back? No way we could take someone like Ryno.

Oh lord. The last time we traded with the Rox we got fleeced. Stay away Dell. Stay away.

I mean, I see us as a team willing to take on scraps, but we have no space.
Posted on 7/12/17 at 6:01 pm to Fun Bunch
Maybe Courtney Lee? But we would have to be dumping Asik for that.

Is Ryno the shooter up Demps' sleeve?
Posted on 7/12/17 at 6:04 pm to TigerinATL
F that.
I imagine Dell is hoping that someone will give multiple smaller contracts and we can unload players like Ajinca, Qpon or someone willing to take Asik and stretch him.

Yeah I don't want to bring Ryan back. Too much fricked up shite happened to him here. He deserves to move on.
Also his contract is bad.

LOL. That would be hilarious. The coaching staff hated him. Darren Erman was not a fan.

So we take Anderson and give up what? That's a lot of salary to dump. Why wouldn't the Knicks just take Ryno?
Posted on 7/12/17 at 6:14 pm to SLafourche07
Could give up Asik, Ajinca, and QPon. Dell might not even do that. That's basically 2 more years of bad contract.

Just going off of salaries (no clue if this would screw up any other flexibility regarding getting hard capped, using exceptions, etc) I would do it.
1st year salary is pretty much equal. $19m
2nd year is +$6m, but Ryno fills a need while Asik and Ajinca either bring nothing or can be replaced.
3rd year is +$21m, but Ryno would be expiring. He could potentially be valuable depending how the cap goes the next few years.

I don't think Anderson would be going back to New Orleans. This is looking like it's a 4 team trade.
4 team trades make my head hurt.

I guess it could be something like:
Knicks give up Carmelo and receive young players from team X and Rockets.
Rockets give up Ryan Anderson to Pelicans and young players to Knicks. Rockets receive Carmelo.
Pelicans give get rid of bad contracts.. Asik, Anjinca, QPon and a pick. They receive Ryan Anderson.
Team X takes on Asik, Anjinca, and Qpon as a salary dump and receive a pick. They give up some young players to Knicks.
I have no idea though I'm just saying stuff.

That all makes sense except for the part where we bring Ryno back. He's making starter money but between AD/DC and defensive small ball, how would he get starters minutes?
Posted on 7/12/17 at 6:45 pm to PrimeTime Money
Ryno back in Nola would be super interesting. From a personnel prospective idk how it works, although he does check the shooting box that we are looking for. From a money point of view, it's pretty brilliant. I assume we'd get rid of our bad contracts (Asik mainly), keep our picks, and get a guy that can contribute & that is more tradeable/valuable than say Reggie Jackson.
I'm intrigued.
But if he does come back its just another reason to hate the Rockets. Frick Houston for giving him $19.6 mil a year

maybe its with portland, they seem most interested in acquiring ryno.
NY: Asik, Harkless, Davis, Ajinca, QPon, and Diallo; 2018 1st Pelicans, 2018 1st Portland
Houston: Anthony and Moore
New Orleans: Gordon and Lee
Portland: Anderson
ETA: Or take out moore/gordon and houston can send out fillers to NO. Money makes sense.
NY get a few players of value/potential (Harkless and Diallo). Biggest thing is the two picks from PDX and NO, both realistically could be lotto picks. They also get to jump start a rebuild and get two contracts off their books and win less.
Houston gets Melo, if you do moore and send gordon, its more or less for a SG who can still shoot 3's at a decent rate.
New Orleans gets a 3&D SG in Lee, doing the gordon deal gives them more shooting. Without Gordon they still keep moore so its just another shooter.
Portland gets Ryan Anderson who they want for spacing @ PF, they also get something of value from Harkless (logjam at SF) and Davis' expiring
