Didn’t see it posted but Emeka got waived
I guess that JJ signing is more of a roster spot than tryout.
Could they be waiving him to give him a smaller contract? or is that 2.whatever million his minimum b/c of years of service?

Jimmy Butler has requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources tell me and @JonKrawczynski. Butler has given Minnesota a list of one-to-three teams with whom he's open to signing extension, in anticipation of trade.

I'm guessing the Pels didn't make the short list.

likely not and that's OK
my guesses:
NYK or MIA
POR or LAL
PHI
hopefully he goes back east.
that would take MIN out of real competition for positioning with the pels and not help another. also this trade forces MIN into the extension with KAT, who AD owns

The sad thing is a team like Philly isn't even able to get in on these players.

this is really surprising part...he must REALLY want out
1) this makes it much easier to trade him
2) he's leaving a shite TON of $$$ on the table

I’m going to guess New York actually

TA: How do you replace Rajon Rondo’s in-game coaching and opponent recognition? There were times last year when it seemed he was coaching while out on the floor and was lauded by his teammates for it.
DE: Rondo was a great vet leader and everyone loved him and respects him. You don’t replace that necessarily, but Anthony and Jrue know it’s their time to step up there and they’re ready. They did it in the playoffs. They can be the vocal leaders to some extent. Rondo was really good at supporting coaches and relaying the message, and Anthony and Jrue have been great throughout.

I'd say those lists are meaningless at this point. Kyrie, Kawhi, PG. None of those dudes got traded where they wanted to go.
But Minny tried the same thing with Butler and its backfired

Minnesota's Jimmy Butler has three preferred destinations for a trade, league sources tell ESPN: The Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks. Those three teams have max cap space to sign Butler as a free agent in July.

Major markets where he’d be the alpha. Way too much risk of him leaving for the Pels to trade for him.

BKN has chandlers salary, NYK has noah, LAL has too many gtds as it is. easy trade partners

That's not why he wants to leave. He doesn't like the culture in Minnesota. He wants to play for a contender and win a title. I hope we can pull this trade off because a core of AD Jrue and Jimmy would be a top 5 defense at least

Get Butler back to the East. C'mon BKN and NYK, time to pony up.

I really feel that's a smokescreen to scare away teams that are not 100% committed to winning. Or it's to drop his price so he his new team will give up less to get him

Clippers Knicks and Nets.

Lmao! Go figure! I’m surprised that they didn’t mention Boston or the Lakers yet. I’m sure it’s coming tho. Whenever a great player plays for a small market team it’s always funny how they claim he wants to play for LA, Boston, or New York but he never goes there except maybe 20% of the time.

a chart blending PIPM projections with kevin pelton's projected player minutes projections, resuting in wins & losses
this not not some writer giving his opinion, its based on data and the interpretation of that data. i think a couple of good take-aways are
1) stats say DEN is set up for a big leap from their young players & from a full season of millsap
2) stats say OKC got better
3) MIN could plunge if they dont have butler
