Restricted free agent Marcus Smart has agreed to a four-year, $52M deal to return to the Boston Celtics, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

No way they keep Smart, Rozier, and Kyrie, next offseason. I think that deal passes the Nene test, though.

If you move the contract does it return something or do you have to give up something to move it.

And why is Nene the poster child for such a test?

Could just as easily have been called the Asik Test?

It's called the Nene test, because you sign the player to the deal and they are basically an instant asset because it's a fair deal. Nene signed a deal in December and was traded the following May because he was on a "fair" deal. A lot of times when you're signing players, they are a bit of a negative asset because you have to overpay to get/keep them, unless they are max level players.

*whispers* Terry Rozier fits in the Pelicans' $3.8M trade exception

I'm not sure New Orleans wants to part with another first-round pick for Rozier after sending a first to Chicago last year for Mirotic, but he'd be a fascinating fit on the Pellies

They annoy me quite often, but apparently I'm masochistic because I also listen to Open Floor and they annoy me even more. I try to listen to as much NBA content as I can, so I sometimes end up listening to pods that I disagree with or get annoyed by. I enjoy the cap minutiae that is covered on Dunc'd On, though.

He must not follow the Pels closely if he thinks they would blink an eye to trade another 1st

I would definitely trade the first for Rozier, but would the Celtics do that?

I decided to pass on Golliver after last seasons offseason.

Just cannot stand it.

And DuncdOn is only (almost) all week podcast worth listening.

If only BSS staff and Lowe were able to do 3-4/week podcasts.

He's Danny's Kyrie insurance. Can't see them moving Rozier unless at the deadline Ainge feels very comfortable Kyrie is coming back.

Yea, I got aggravated last offseason. They never ate crow about being wrong about the Pels either. Andrew Sharp pisses me off too, that fricker is obsessed with the Pelicans trading AD and thinks that Pels fans are out of touch because we don't think that the Pels will trade him.

Agreed. I also enjoy Russillo, although he does more than just NBA stuff.

Danny’s Kyrie Insurance shot 0-10 from 3 in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year. I think he’s attainable.

Right, although I don't see them keeping all 3 of them, I also don't really see them losing 2 of them.
