My understanding is they still don't have the cap space even with this move. Not if Boogie wants to be able to sign a max any time in the near future.

exactly my thoughts.
Someone posted in the MSB thread that Vegas increased LAL odds of getting Kawhi. Maybe this is why they are rescinding Randle, theres a Kawhi deal in the works

This could simply be one NBA superstar congratulating another on his success, but it is possible that James is trying to create inroads with the All-Star big man.
After Boogie had that huge 44/20 game LeBron tweeted that out and shortly after that rumors came out of nowhere that LeBron was keeping an eye on the Pels as a potential destination. If LeBron wants Boogie they'll go get him Boogie.

I truly believe they had no intention whatsoever of Elf starting and they really thought Rondo would be back.

or maybe he did know that, which is why he got Payton and is trying to make a trade for someone like Dragic even though it's unlikely. Sucks, but $9M for Rondo just can't happen, and you can't blame him for taking that payday.
