Time to panic?
I rescind my earlier remark. I'm in moderate panic mode with Rondo leaving

He really helped in the lockerroom and on the bench though.
Definitely. His play on the floor wasnt special. People will see the assists and assume he can still be defense and look at this as a loss. He was a liability at times.
We can run out a Elf and a guy like Ty Lawson and be fine. PG is saturated in the league, a trade is possible. We will be ok there

I agree that we will be fine, but its still not ideal and a blow to the overall plan.

LeBron getting the Lakers to sign everyone that has ever given him trouble in the league

Dell has been prepared for this. They offered him 1 for 3.9, and they knew it only took one team to do something stupid and swoop in.
They are not totally caught off guard by this. He was a band aid that was going to get torn off at some point. Not like they lost some long term, irreplaceable piece. Moving on.

his leadership and IQ is what I'm worried about losing
hopefully having him for one year increased the IQ of this team x10

Trade Hill and Ajinca for Schröder.

No, but they lost a guy that galvanized the locker room, especially during the postseason.

Does plan B involve a trade either to clear cap space or acquire a guard? Or do they think they can get a cheap FA to fill the void? Demps has pulled cheap serviceable PGs out of the bargain bin every year or 2.

It's a loss. For sure. But it's July 2nd. I don't know why people continue to react to every move in a vacuum when they should know by now that it makes sense to see how all the moves shake out and look at the offseason as a whole.

Certainly some disappointed people within the Pelicans organization right now, who also feel a bit caught off guard.

We saw Jrue become Evil Jrue and AD realize he's the leader on the team, he literally had a quote revealing an epiphany along those lines as stupid as it sounds for him to say "these guys expect me to lead them". They still can use a veteran leader like Rondo, but I think they need him less now than they did a year ago.

I think this is a fair point. I don’t know how much more we need Rondo to teach these guys, but we needed it last year and he delivered the goods. Sucks. Oh well. I’ll miss the dude but that’s a crazy deal that he couldn’t pass up.

In that sitdown they did with Rachel Nichols before the GSW series, they both credited that to Rondo.
Hopefully one year of him rubbed off enough.
