Babbitt should be back, and if that is the case, who is on the market that we could guarantee minutes in the rotation?
If we can't guarantee minutes, what is the difference between a minimum guy vs. a 2.5 mil guy? The flexibility might be more valuable in that situation. There will still be decent guys waiting around when we get to the minimum portion of free agency. Once you use the rest of that MLE, you are hard capped. Is that worth it to have an 11th or 12th man who is slightly better (maybe) than the 11th or 12th man you get with a min contract?
I tend to think not. A guy like Jeremy Evans isn't worth losing that flexibility IMO.

Source tells me BOS, DET, NO all offered Tobias Harris max. SAC even submitted max offer sheet. Turned all down to stay with @OrlandoMagic.
kinda glad they didn't blow their wad on Harris
he's good but not the 2nd star we need

Also says we have a trade of at least Ryno lined up and ready to go if needed.

I can confirm Pels DID NOT offer Harris max. Will talk about it more on the pod tonight.

Where is that coming from?

Joe Kepner?
Kings people are reporting they didn't offer max sheet, either

I don't know cgrand's source, but I was just doing simple caponomics. If near max in, then at least Ryno and low end contracts out.

I guess he gathered a little more wisdom today.

Spurs rescinded their qualifying offer today for Cory Joseph. What will he fetch on the market? Since they need a backup PG would a S&T of him and Cole make sense for all parties? I don't know how he is defensively but he is a decent offensive player from what I remember.

If they are dumping Joseph it's to clear cap space for Aldridge which means taking on salary in Cole defeats the cap clearing. Also, I like Cole as the backup PG. He has some of the same skills as Jrue and "hunts" in different areas of the court than the rest of our guards (besides Jrue).

I'm a cole fan. I don't want to move him.

I'm a big Cole fan too, but I was thinking about the financial side. If Joseph is cheaper with a similar skill set that may be the prudent move. As a fan, I want Cole around long term.

Restricted free agent guard Reggie Jackson has agreed to a five-year, $80M extension with the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell Yahoo.

Tyreke's contract is looking more and more a bargain than it was.
Hell even EGs contract is not that awful now imo.

Of course not we only got 1 year left.

In order to offer a max deal to someone next year, we will have to move either Reke, Asik or Jrue, correct?
