If their better deal was the fact we were going to give them a 2019 1st and then gave them a second. Dell is the damn man.

Kevin McHale was on Mike and Mike. He said the team that had the apparent deal probably spoke with Cousins' agent who said DC would not sign with that team which made the deal fall apart. If so, makes me feel better that DC may sign here assuming McHale is correct and Demps made a similar call.

I think if we can make the playoffs this year, improve next year and win 50 games, it should be relatively easy to resign him. He'd be dumb not to. Only way he wont resign is if we suck it up and this twin towers thing absolutely doesn't work.
We can offer him more money than anyone else can.

Maybe Vivek thinks he is still the next CP3.

I think the Cousins not extending is a horrible bluff. I have a hard time believing he is going to give up another 30-40 million dollars. As long as the Pels don't do anything stupid and offer him the max offer they can give he is going to sign a new contract in New Orleans.

How did the agent cause it to be worse? The tweets about cousins not resigning with teams that trade for him?

He's not going to extend but he will resign with the Pels for a max offer the second he can.

He makes less on an extension than a new deal.

Hoopshype said we changed our 2019 1st to a second rounder because of the agent's horrible bluff.

Supposedly the same deal, but it was the 2019 first, rather than the second that was included in the deal.

If the Sixers don't receive the Top 18 protected pick this year, it converts to two second round picks. Mavs win this trade in that case.

Mavs win this trade anyway.

Noel as an RFA vs Bogut, a bench guy, and ether a late 1st or 2 2nds is a steal considering Philly wouldn't match a deal on Noel this offseason.

Is being #19 even a remote likelihood for the Mavs? It's almost like Philly wanted to be able to say they got a 1st for Noel even though they apparently couldn't.
