Despite being in the same group as Denver and Dallas.

The bloom has fully come off the rose

That's their mistake. If it's a tournament that doesn't mean anything, the Pels have a pretty good shot at winning.

Don't they have play in days, where basically all games on those days will be play in pod game?

If so, I can see why they won't be televised.

Pels In-Season Tournament Schedule

Fri, Nov. 10 @Rockets
Tues, Nov 14 Mavericks
Fri, Nov. 17 Nuggets
Fri, Nov. 24 @Clippers

Is the NBA going to schedule other regular season games during this tournament? Can't imagine the Pelicans would only play 4 games in 2 weeks, but is it really a tournament if you're playing other games in the middle of it?

It's more of a rebranding of boring regular season games so they can charge the TV networks more money.

Yes, and those 4 games you mentioned are also regular season games, count towards their regular season record, in addition to counting towards the play in.

This

Don't get me wrong, I'm not acting like I'm all super pumped about this or think the winner of this tournament will celebrate like they won a title, but it'll definitely give extra juice to otherwise random regular season games that aren't terribly important, so i'm all for it.

I assumed these were regular season games just against your bubble teams. I don’t foresee this being a long term event. I know the league is having trouble getting sponsors.

We've burned TNT and ABC/ESPN so many times the last few years by trotting out lineups on TV without Zion or BI, I'm shocked we get any national games

Yeah I knew all that. Just seems like they could play all these tournament games consecutively if they want fans to care.

Can't wait for Luka to have a load management night off in our second tournament game. What a disaster this will be.

Yeah, I have basically zero interest in this crap. It's hokey and dumb. They're basically starting down the road to Nascar, where every race has 2 or 3 dumb mini-races inside or the race.

Hell, I may specifically NOT watch these games because it's so stupid.

I would also imagine sports books would be all over this if the NBA was really having trouble finding sponsors. They probably want this fake tournament to work as much as the NBA since it's the kind of thing degenerate gamblers would love to bet on.
