The fact that teams have broken up and new ones have formed is part of what saved things IMHO.
The Heat fade while Cleveland rises. The Warriors make the jump from also ran to superpower. The Warriors disintegrate while the Raptors persevere thanks to one star and a ton of depth. Etc.
But that's going to continue.
The dubs are fading, and now the Lakers are (presumably) the team to beat going forward.
In 4 years (or probably less) there will be some other team that has their shite structured to take them down. Maybe with great management, development and a little luck, it'll be the pelicans.
It's not like the warriors just replaced KD with AD and Kawhi.

I think it'll be the nets IF Durant is close to what he was

How is this any different than any other time period in the league?

It is still about how some of these teams form.
The new SuperLakers formed in part because of massive tampering by LeBron since his pet sports agency was representing AD and eventually forced him there.
That kind of shite doesn’t sit well when a guy is still under contract for a year and a half when the effort starts.
I won’t necessarily hate on Kawhi if he signs with them but I would be disappointed considering he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to do all the backbiting bullshite LeBron does.

When you can virtually eliminate the regular season. Your league is stale from a competitive standpoint

It would be nice if an East team could step up and bring it, but I am planting my flag firmly in the "KD ain't ever gonna be KD again" camp.
An achilles tear is so bad. People like to look for the best possible outcome, but I just don't see it happening. He'll still be a decent player. But his days of undisputed top 3/perennial MVP candidate are over imo.
That and Kyrie will destroy that team from within before KD even sees the court.

The point is, is that it doesn’t matter how they do, they will always exist. Period. Since the inception of the league, it’s the way it has been and it’s the way it will always be. Kids grow up on super teams. It’s all AAU is. Hell even football is going that way with stuff like IMG.

But the "I only watch the NBA during playoffs" meme has been alive for decades.

In the beginning of the decade, more than half the teams in the NBA were losing money. Last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the only team to lose money by Forbes’ count, with an operating loss of $13 million (interest and noncash charges result in other teams showing a net loss). Owner Dan Gilbert spent $203 million on players, including a $50.7 million luxury tax penalty on his massive payroll, as he successfully chased a fourth-straight trip to the NBA Finals. It was the second-straight year that the Cavs were the sole NBA team in the red.

Total NBA revenue hit $8 billion last season, up 8.5%. In addition to the gains from TV and arena renovations, teams reaped the rewards of the NBA’s logo patch sponsorships. The three-year trial program started with the 2017-18 season, and every team except the Oklahoma City Thunder has a deal in place, at an annual rate of between $4 million and $20 million.
In addition to being the lone team to lose money, the Cavaliers were the only one that declined in value. The team is worth $1.28 billion, down 4% from last year.

No it doesn’t. You wouldn’t be saying a fricking thing if a heathy KD and Kawhi came to the Pelicans with AD here and you fricking know it. You would be celebrating with everyone else when the trophy was awarded.
Don’t be a fricking hypocrite. The only reason you are singing the tune you are is due to the fact that the Pelicans were such utter shite that they scooped Zion. They were such utter shite that Boogie left. That’s AD asked to leave. So you are praying beyond hope that all of them mesh into what the Warriors has with Steph/klay/Green? Not happening.
