Elton Brand: Hell yeah I'll do a sign and trade for Butler... I want Harden in return

Gordon’s on a great contract though
I could see it

A guy like PJ Tucker would be good for the 76s, on and off 5ye court

Bobby Marks just said it would be extremely difficult and he thinks the 6ers are better off letting him walk.
The best scenario I have seen for it to happen pretty much requires the Rockets to dump about $25m+ in cap space and then make the trade.
And even then, it would take Butler having a backup plan that would make Philly unhappy, like him signing with the Nets instead, in order to convince them to trade him.
Teams like the Kings and Celtics are sniffing around Capela.
The question is how they flip Gordon, Tucker, etc., for cap space while still having assets to trade Philly.

it would have to be a 3 team trade
Gordon and capela would have to go out
To avoid base year compensation issues with butler the 6ers would have to sign him into cap space which would mean they’d renounce at least Redick and McConnell. 6ers would also lose their cap exceptions in that scenario
it’s extremely complicated but certainly possible
rockets would be thin as frick but it’s a worthy gamble

Rocket tards on RealGM are trying to say that Philly should do this so they get “something” for Butler.
My counter argument has been that this trade actually makes Philly worse off than if he walks.

those people don’t understand the salary cap. there is a reason max contracts don’t get S&T’d anymore

Ingram just posted insta story that has a Black screen with just Portland, Oregon posted on it with 3 lines at the bottom. Might mean something.. or nothing at all. Just kind of a weird cryptic thing to post

According to Ian Begley, Carmelo to the Lakers is likely.
My god. That would be so wonderful.

Didn't read the whole thread, but saw on Twitter that there is mutual interest between the Knicks and Julius Randle.

Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has declined his $31.5M player option and will become an unrestricted free agent, league sources tell ESPN. Durant and his business manager Rich Kleiman are in New York, evaluating free agency options. So far, process has stayed private.

Dolan is supposedly demanding massive amounts of medical information from Durant as part of the FA process.
That is a lot of hesitation from a guy who signed Amare Stoudemire, whose knees were basically fricked at that point.

Someone floated the theory that this is CYA by Dolan for when KD signs with Brooklyn instead.
