I think Pels related news should get their own threads, but figured we could put non-Pels news and rumors in this one and discuss.

Here's one on the Celtics and Kemba:

The Celtics, I'm told, are emerging as a stealth suitor for Charlotte Hornets free agent Kemba Walker

Boston's cap-room situation is a fluid one but the Celtics, as Danny Ainge has acknowledged, are weighing their various needs as we speak in both the backcourt (with Kyrie Irving -- and possibly Terry Rozier -- leaving) and frontcourt (with Al Horford exiting)

Kemba would be a perfect fit in Boston.

I believe Kemba said he wants to stay in Charlotte and would take a discount to stay. Unless he goes full Kyrie, I don’t see him leaving.

So Ainge shite the bed with Durant / Kawhi / Irving / Davis and his fall back is Kemba...man, he truly sucks as a GM

He definitely does not suck as a GM. They are just having a rough off-season.

Ainge made a lot of miscalculations regarding the star’s FAs in the last couple of years. I really think for them, trading for AD required Irving to return. I don’t blame him for this one especially if Tatum looks like he could be a special player.

At the end of the day, I think Irving leaving really changed the way they felt about keeping AD if a trade was made. It’s a risk they weren’t going to take. I still think it’s the right decision this time around.

I've been saying this over and over, but here it is again:

In 4 days about 200 players are going to be free agents. That's 40% of the NBA. 14 teams have meaningful cap space and many will use that on 1 or 2 players. There are going to be lots and lots of good bargains out there.

Two NBA sources confirm @TheSteinLine report that Celtics are seriously interested in @KembaWalker. I doubt the Hornets put this thing to bed pre-emptively when free-agency opens June 30. Plenty of suitors, and I assume Kemba will listen to all the pitches.

they'd have to renounce rozier

i feel bad for scary terry. had he been a FA last year he would've cashed in big time. Kyrie killed his market.

I suspect it will be like 2016 in that respect.

If you don't jump at the in-demand guys you can find some decent deals. But you have to be patient and let some of the second and third tier guys get overpaid.

....I also suspect a lot of those guys don't come back to the NBA.
